Disclaimer: The final entry of the story Changeling. Don't own. Don't sue.

Cosmo sees. He thinks Wanda does to, but ignores it.

Timmy.

He looks so much like them. Could have been his double, if not for the colouring. Brown hair and blue eyes, almost the same shade as the woman he called mother.

Almost, but not really.

He acts the idiot, so it doesn't hurt so much.

Cosmo remembers their son, even though Wanda pretends to forget.

He remembers blue eyes and a soft smile.

Trusting.

Innocent.

He doesn't know where the hell the boy got his teeth from, but still.

He could be theirs.

It would be just like Jorgen to assign them their son to watch over as he is abused and neglected. A subtle 'This is what happens when you break the rules.'

Timmy has broken the rules. Hundreds of times. The kid has a knack for finding loopholes.

Just like him parents.

Cosmo remembers the day they met.

They don't usually have a godchild for longer than a few months; never long enough to get attached.

Timmy was different though. They both knew it from day one.

There is something…magical about him.

In his smile.

In his love.

Cosmo wonders if he would love Timmy as much if he didn't suspect what he did about the boy.

He shakes away the thought.

Timmy, with his extreme wishes, with his buck-tooth smile, with his pink hat and horrible grades and crazy imagination.

Cosmo couldn't love the child any more than he already did.

He was theirs, either by blood or by bond.

It didn't matter which.

His parents could neglect all they wanted, and Wanda could hide behind Da Rules.

Timmy was theirs.

End of story.
