Stories from a REAL boarding school student

Hi there, fellow people of . My name is thescarlettstorm, but you guys can call me Scarlett or Scar for short. I'm writing this story, a little collection of stories about boarding school from the perspective of a real life boarding school student and a fancy-pants posh and immensely expensive high school in Austrailia. Why, I hear you asking? Well, that's a long story.

I got inspired to write this about a year ago when my friend and I were sitting in the cafeteria and she said to me, completely out of the blue, "I hate it here. According to fanfic logic, I should have met some attractive prince who is also somehow a werewolf by now."

I laughed it off at the time, but it did get me thinking. Fanfic get a lot of boarding life wrong. Its not a romantic place where people go to meet other rich kids and fall head over heels in love (Not that you would know that from watching some of the other girls, who seem to have made it their personal mission to bed half the god-damn school) and it's not glamorous. You get homesick. A lot. You get stressed, and unlike with regular school, you can't just leave at the end of the day and forget all about the school day. No, you are always at school.

I got inspired to publish these stories about a month ago, by nothing in particular. I found them in the back of my computer, buried DEEP in my random shit folder, and as I was reading them, I realised that they are to funny and too golden to be left unread.

Here are a couple of questions I always get asked when I say to someone "I'm a boarding school student." , so I'll answer them right off the bat, to avoid confusion later.

No, my name is not actually Scarlett. I have changed my name and the names of the people and places around me to protect the safety of myself and others. Please do not inquire for actual information, I will not give it.

Yes, I am a real boarding school student going to a real school. The reason I reiterate this over and over again is simply because I am tired of being asked "Wait, you're a real boarding school student? No way!" Yes way. What do you think I do? Hang out at a random school with a camera waiting for something to happen so I can write it down on a blog nobody reads? Why?

Yes, Some of my characters can seem unrealistic, but let me assure you that they are all real, based on real people that move and breathe and blink, just like you do. Sometimes, I accentuate character traits in certain people to get the message across, Others it's just the way that I preserved them at the time (keep in mind that some of these stories are upwards or 4 years old). This is especially true in people I don't like, but usually I have a good reason, as my school tends to house some of the worst people I have ever met on this earth. TLDR: I'm sorry if I made you look like a stuck up horrible person, but in my defence, you TOTALLY deserved it.

As a side-note, these stories, especially some of the later ones, bring up some really dark stuff, including mentions of suicide, self-harm, depression, anxiety and sexual assault/harassment. I won't go into heavy details, but it will at least be mentioned for the sake of pure accuracy. I also swear too much, so if you can't handle any of that, I would not recommend that you read this.

I hope you enjoy it. Remember, each moment is real. These people are real. These stories are real.
