"Shit," Page uttered as another barray of bullets streaked against the side of the hall, the recoil barely missing her legs. Where was William? No matter; the low drum of the rising elevator sounded. Page whirled around, her CZ75 at the ready, half wincing and half dragging herself away from the spray of lead. She raised her gun to fire.

The night hummed along the highway. High above, the moon glared down on the troublesome asphalt as a vibration of vehicles sped past, a dark blue Chevy Corvette in the lead alongside a black Shadow VLX Deluxe motorcycle, followed by a black Mercedes-Benz. A Barrett Light 50 blazed from out of the Corvette's top as its driver (David) sped up. William swerved his motorcycle to the right as Jeff (atop the car) continued shooting at the Mercedes in back, at the pearly white smiles of its men, if men is what you'd call them. William looked back at the young girl clinging to his waist.

"You all right?!" He hollered, taking a moment to fire his own SIG P210 back at the pursuing car. Page looked up. The cold night air nipped in between her legs. The shadow's freshly shot shrapnel scraped behind her thighs, cutting slits in her black jeans.

"I'm all right!" She yelled back. "I'm not shot!"

"Drive!" William shouted, firing at the Mercedes. Page gripped the gear handles, and sped up. She could see Jeff blaring out the back of their Corvette. The black Mercedes swerved diligently behind. Page winced as a onstream of shots collided around her, pinching her triceps and back. She turned back for but a second. The flashing whites of Michael Avalon's ghouls smirked back at her. In a heartbeat, the car and its ghouls barely rolled out a new blast. With the Barrett used up, Jeff's trusty Basooka was calling the shots. The road lit up in puddles of fire as the vehicles raced on. Suddenly, Jeff cried out in pain, clutching his right arm from the Giovanni's Colt Anaconda shot, but he still worked to send off another basooka blast. The rumbling of the motorcycle quivered under Page's sweaty grasp.

Then the Corvette exploded. Page's horrified stare turned back to the sick smiles of the Giovanni ghouls. She sped up. David barely swerved the car to its side.

"Jeff! Dave!" The Shadow VLX collided to a stop behind the huge clump of massing fire as the Mercedes screeched to a halt. Page jumped up from the gears and ran towards the flames, the celerity of her own ghoul blood pumping. "Fire kills them faster than it does me- Fire kills them fast- Please be aliv- Blood can heal- Manhassin never wanted me here- I" A blinding white light.
