Chapter 1 :
I ran. I can't explain why but I had a really bad feeling that something was about to happen. I was not going to die; no way was I going to survive. It had taken me forever to get to were I was and I was not giving all my pain and bloodshed away just because my physical self was tired.
I slowed my pace and stared and my challenge, a big hairy monster about 6 feet tall, stinky breath, claws etc. You know the usual. Oh , I forgot and the compulsive need to rip every molecule of my body into shreds not living a single bone intact or inside of me for that matter. That thing…. That hideous monstrosity was even sadly to say more determined then me.
I crept up behind him, or, it, or her, I couldn't tell. I was so quite that I could not even hear the footsteps of my leather run-down dirty soles hit the cold linoleum. So when the thing turned around and struck me right in the head with a spiky barbell, I was not prepared to duck so I just stood there the blow was so hard I flipped backward twice and before I could get up the thing pounded me in my stomach I landed with a big :oomph" and before I passed out I realized he had a fighting style just like Ari's.
The next thing I know is there are blinding multicolored lights flashing in my face. I felt sick like I had just eaten Iggy's cooking…after it was digested. But the lady at the front counter said that was normal reaction after a game simulation. I took the helmet off my head and tried to control my wooziness. "GAME OVER" flashed mockingly in my face along with Melinda my virtual player reminding of one of my many faults. I seemingly never win when it really matters I had so much depending on this game. I took a deep breath and walked down the steps to face the Jeers and comments and the dares I was going to get from the others for losing.
