Hurricane Lamp
Risembool didn't often see blizzards; it was too far east, too far south, the climate was too temperate, but it was seeing one tonight, and Trisha Elric sat on her hearthrug, contemplating her evening alone. She'd had a lot of evenings alone. She knew just how she liked to spend them.
There was a polite knock at the door. Trisha started. It was a blizzard, it was past dark even if there'd been no blizzard, who -
She leapt up and ran to the door.
"Hohenheim!"
He stood in the snow and the driving wind, his head bare, his eyes mild and sad and strange, like always, like every time she saw him. She reached out and pulled him through her door.
"Hohenheim, Hohenheim what are you doing? That coat's too thin, at least you're wearing mittens, where the hell is your hat, what if you'd got lost?" The door slammed, the bolt went home, and Trisha spun round, taking off Hohenheim's coat, brushing snow from his shoulders, snow from his hair. He was so cold. The cold rose off of him like heat should.
"I did," he said, blinking down at her. "I saw your light."
"Oh my god," Trisha said, and shut her eyes tight.
"Trisha?" Hohenheim's hand on her cheek. She turned her face into his touch. He was so cold.
"We've got to get you out of those clothes," she said, and opened her eyes. "Come on then, you ridiculous man. I'll warm you up."
