The princess looked down at the castle she used to spend every day in, up in till her parents died with a gleam of delight in her eyes she hadn't been home in roughly two years when henry inherited the throne. Walking through the streets of the city of castin the princess was glad no one outside of the castle had ever seen her that meant no unnecessary attention. People didn't give her a second glance. To everyone that saw her she looked like a rich kid traveling alone, probably a runaway.
"You have a pretty dress! Can I touch it?" said a girl from behind her.
The princess turned around and looked at the peasant girl.
"Sure, I don't mind." She replied.
"The embroidery is amazing and the stichwork that of a genius, too bad you spilled something on it." The girl said running her fingers over a blood stain. "I can help with that if you want, my dad's a tailor."
The princess smiled and shook her head.
"I really have to be going." She said.
The princess continued down the road watching the market in midday rush. Hurrying down the street towards the castle, when suddenly she tripped over something.
"Hay you dare assault a knight?!" said a voice from behind.
The princess stood immediately and replied in a offended tone.
"I did not assault a knight!" she yelled turning to see her opponent.
The man was tall and broad shouldered with a square chin and a scar across his forehead. A man stood next to him, who looked exactly the same except the scar.
"You will hold your tongue when speaking to a nobleman, obviously this filth needs a lesson taught to her don't you think Boris." Said the companion knight.
Boris the knight she tripped over smirked evilly. She didn't scold them for talking to a princess that way she didn't call other knights, as they would probably side with their comrades instead she prepared herself knowing only to use sorcery if need be. The one without the scar rushed at her before hearing someone shout addressing him.
"Stop that! If you kill every citizen that you decide has offended you there will be no one left in the kingdom!"
The princess turned to look at her rescuer, and was surprised to find a tall but scrawny looking knight who had a clever smile on his face. She drew her hood so no one would see her face to closely.
Before the princess knew it she had been brought in front of the court of castin, accused of assaulting a knight. Great this isn't how I wanted to be reintroduced to my friends. She thought
"That girl attacked me!" The knight said.
The king turned to the knight who had stopped it all.
"Did you see what happened?" he asked.
The man nodded.
"Sire the girl tripped over the knights foot which had been placed into the path intentionally to cause trouble, he claimed she attacked him and she denied it."
When he finished speaking the king turned his gaze towards the brute, who immediately started talking.
"she should have been looking where she was go- the king silenced him.
Finally the king looked upon the princess.
"Remove your hood."
The princess' heart skipped a beat but obeyed. Gasps could be heard throughout the court and the ill-mannered knight looked to see what the commotion was.
"Princess Lilith, it's been a long time."
