Prologue

I hear the last customer walk through the door, which marks the end of my shift. I start to pack up and close down the shop. The boxes were heavy and I was just about finish with this job, but we needed to pay the bills for the apartment, and I couldn't let my siblings down. It was Christmas Eve, and in New York through the glass windows it was nice, but completely chaotic. Every year, people rushed to the nearest shopping mall and grabbed their presents. I just hoped I could get Jacob that sword he wanted for his birthday a couple months ago, but sense I didn't have enough money I told him I'd get him something for Christmas, plus I couldn't break my promise.

A man walked in, his face was pale he held a cane in his hand that closely represented an orb, and looked to be troubled and maybe a bit cold of the weather. I hated to throw him out, but it seemed like he could get frostbite if he did. So, I kept a vacant table and asked if he wanted anything. He shook his head, and smiled at me saying "I would love to have you my dear." He said in one of those wise voices that my father used. I laughed and grabbed him a cup of hot chocolate to warm him up, and went back to cleaning the shop.

When I was done, the man had already left. I hadn't even seen him leave. He had left a few gold coins on the table; it looked different from most coins I've seen. Especially since, my sister collected coins she loved learning things about the coins. Where they've been and how they were created, I thought it might make a good present for her. If had known idea, that I had just accepted a prophecy I probably would have left it in the coffee shop for someone else to take it. Though, that does sound a bit cold.

OOC: This is just one of my ideas, if you want me to update vote on my profile page or you can check out my other stories. I only can update one though. So, yeah.
