Ben knew that he should be sleeping-and he really shouldn't be waking up his long time girlfriend Yume in the middle of the night by sneaking into her room through a window and kneeling by her bed to gently nudge her awake. But he really could care less are the moment; he'd been up for three nights and gotten about 2 hours of sleep each day, avoiding her for the same amount of time. And now that he'd gotten what he was working on perfect there was no way he would wait any longer to do this.
When she startled awake though he felt a little bad, he knew if she had been dreaming she might be a bit annoyed with him. However, he ignored that fact for the moment. He simply stayed at his spot kneeling at the edge of her bed and started speaking-giving her no room to interrupt him between any of his words until he was done. "Yume, I'm sorry about ignoring you the last few days. I told you I'd find you once I was done with what I was working on though, so here I am."
Seeing that she was at least mostly awake now he continued without hesitation. "A dream is a wonderful thing, a dream tells you what you might not realize yourself you want. A song is a wonderful thing, it tells the universe what is in your heart." His smile grew as he kept speaking, the tiredness from his lack of sleep for the last few days become less obvious with each word, his voice radiating enough excitement and love that Yume could probably guess where this was going.
"But a dream that strikes a string in the soul and starts an unending melody is better than both. A song that makes you dream of the future is a wonderful thing. And if you my dreaming melody would agree to be joined with me forever; I swear to you that the song would never end-and that dreams will never again be able to compete with reality."
Finally he stopped speaking, giving her a chance to process what had just happened. A chance to let all of the things he'd said sink in; and waited for her reply. Admittedly a bit impatient for it but willing to fake patience for this situation at least.
