"Drew~" A soft voice whispers on the wind.

Drew looked up from reading his book, hearing the tail end of a song. He normally wouldn't pay attention to anything like that but in this instant he made an exception because of his name in the song.

"I fake a smile~" The melody was soft and had a sad note to it.

Faking smiles? He gets up to off of his bench to see who was singing that song. It shouldn't be hard Amity Park is very open and he should be able to see who was singing about him.

"...Reason...guitar~" The familiar voice sings slightly stronger, putting more emotion in the lyric.

He turns around quickly. The voice that was singing was soft and didn't go above a whisper. Had he made someone cry? What in the world did he do? Sure, he can be standoffish but nothing to bring someone to tears. Arceus, if he made a girl cry he's going to feel guilty for the rest of the day.

He walks around and sees a girl a few feet away from him playing in the flowers. He sees a familiar now-green bandana and a familiar beautifly on said bandana.

His brow furrowed. Did he make May cry? He thought by now that she understood he doesn't mean half the things that come out of his mouth when he's around her.

He heard the tune from the song drift on the wind to his ears. Running a hand through his hair he approached the back of his rival. She was in a crouching position running her hand through the flowers. "May…" He starts out softly. "I'm, uh, really sorry if I made you cry. I didn't even know that you played guitar." His attempted joke fell flat when she didn't respond.

Her singing is soft so he can only hear a few words about teardrops and guitars. Her voice trails down, softer than before until it's just her humming.

A few hummed notes follow the guilt-laden lyrics. "May… You do know I don't really mean what I say to you right? You are a great coordinator… and… and a really good friend." Drew puts his hand on her shoulder.

May turns around, the hand on her shoulder grabbing her attention. She stands up with beautifly giving her a few inches above her rival. She beams at him. "Drew! Hey! How are you?"

Drew's face scrunches up in confusion. She doesn't look sad at all but what—he remembers the first lyric of faking a smile. "May, you don't have to pretend nothing is wrong. If I did something wrong you have to tell me."

May tilts her head looking adorably confused. Her face brightens in realization. Reaching up she takes something from her ear. "Sorry, Drew. Could you repeat that? I was listening to 'Teardrops on my Guitar' by Taylor Swift. Oh, my Mew. I just love her. I am seriously addicted to this song."

Now he's more confused. "What?"

"Yeah," she leans forward and puts an earbud in his ear. "I had the song on loop. Listen."

The song he heard May sing along too sounded in his ear and he felt like an idiot. He hung his head and smiled slightly at his stupidity. He took the earbud out of his ear and put it back in hers. He opened his book and resumed reading, walking away with May calling his name questionably.

A/N: I don't own Taylor Swift's song or Pokémon...
