Troy and Gabriella: their names alone symbolize a sort of perfect happiness. They've been through so much together, but always managed to stay close. Sometimes, though, a dispute or miscommunication would leave its mark on their relationship—leaving both individuals changed forever.
It started with a beautiful sunset that ended a wonderful day together. Just when she thought things couldn't get any better, Gabriella felt it all slipping away. The couple had been watching a movie in Troy's living room when he happened to look down at her. He had his arm wrapped around her shoulder, where she relaxed comfortably. Gabriella's eyes met his and he leaned in. Troy's lips had almost reached hers when he looked up. She thought she'd heard the sound of the front door opening but before she could turn back, he put his finger under her chin until they were eye-to-eye again.
Their lips met sweetly and there was a spark in the air—or so Gabriella thought. Her eyes flickered open momentarily, only to notice Troy's had never closed. This sight had not even been processed before her eyelids shut again. But when it did, she pulled away slowly. Troy was smiling at her, but her wonderment could not be concealed as she sat back a little.
He dropped his arm around her again and pulled her close, shaking her shoulders a bit. "You okay?" he asked, completely in denial. His girlfriend nodded slightly. Gabriella then got off the couch and faced him, smiling. It was nothing. I am over-thinking this; it means nothing, she thought to herself.
"Perfectly fine," she said, holding out her hand. He took it and pulled himself up as well. "What's for dinner, anyway?" she asked as they walked hand-in-hand toward the kitchen.
A day later, Gabriella Montez was still thinking about that kiss. Was he looking at something? Was he looking at me? Why? Does that mean the spark is gone? Her large imagination continued on with questions and answers for what her heart continued to ponder.
When she couldn't take it any longer, she picked up the phone. Laying stomach-down on her bed, Gabriella put in the number with a sigh. A young girl answered.
"Hey … um, Sharpay?" she asked hesitantly.
"Do I know you?" the girl asked sharply, impatient as ever.
"It's me, Gabriella …." Sharpay coughed, as she chocked down the liquid she had apparently just sipped.
"Gabriella? As in … Montez?" she asked, surprised and indignant.
"Yeah … look, I know you don't want to talk but I need your help." Gabriella sighed, not any happier to be having this conversation.
"My help? With what, may I ask?" Gabriella could almost picture the girl smirking as she inspected her nails smugly.
"It's sort of hard to explain over the phone but … well … maybe I could come over to your place and talk it over?" Sharpay thought over the proposal but there was no denying how badly she wanted the 'deets' on their relationship. Gossip was gossip, after all, and without a second thought, she told Gabriella when to come.
I think this story will be complete in three chapters. The next one should be out in a week or two. What do you think Gabriella has to ask Shar? And what advice might the Ice Princess give her? Review and let me know where you think this story is going!! Please and thank you.
