"She can't see the way your eyes light up when you smile…" Jasmine had one earphone in ear, the other lying on the faded white shirt she was wearing. It seemed like a habit for her to visit the beach in Sunnyshore whenever she visited the Sinnoh region; which was quite often since she had started to participate in the Super Contests there. She would bring Amphy when possible, her Magneton, and Rusty; her trusty steelix and rent an apartment.
The Super Contests wasn't the main reason she was there though. She gazed at the ocean, sitting on a picnic mat. She glanced at Amphy; curled up in a bundle of fur, asleep. She smiled in amusement and continued breathing in the salty air, watching the waves crash onto the sand. Amphy yawned, looking up at Jasmine. He gave a small shake of his head before looking behind her; to the city and the Sunnyshore gym.
"Paloo Paloo!" he yipped, jumping to his paws and running through the sand towards a familiar young man. She turned to face the person walking towards her, taking the earphone out of her ear. Her heart raced to see the young blond gym leader.
"Hey Jasmine." He groaned, taking a seat next to her. She immediately knew what was going on. Her smile dampened as she scooted over towards him.
"Let me guess, is it her?" she asked softly, looking at the crestfallen young man. It broke her heart to see him so down. If only you knew, she thought.
"I don't even know what to do anymore. She doesn't approve of anything I want to do. She complains about everything. We don't share anything in common anymore," he groaned, frustrated. His head was buried in his arms. Jasmine could only pat him on the shoulder without knowing what to say.
"Maybe you could try to compromise, like do something she likes and do something you like at the same time or something? Maybe it's all just a misunderstanding?" she asked softly, trying to help. If only you would feel the same… She sighed, trying to understand his anger. She couldn't help over thinking.
"I don't know, maybe. Thanks for the help, Jazzy," he smiled and stood up. She blushed and nodded mutely. She loved how his face would light up when he smiled, like the 'shocking shining star' he was.
If only he didn't have someone already. How would he ever notice someone like her; like the Olivine native, next to his so called 'perfect' girlfriend? She sighed, watching him leave and head for his gym once again.
If only she had the guts to tell him anything. Unfortunately, she didn't. She turned to the ocean again, drowned in her thoughts. She pushed her earphones in again, ignoring the world.
"We could be a beautiful miracle, unbelievable, instead of just invisible…"
