Sands of Time

Watching the rise and fall of my chest

My clock is ticking- how much time is left?

The lady in blue walks in, and my eyes fill with fear.

"Isabell," she said sofly. "your sister,Kate, is here."

She walked in with tears streaming down her face,

and around the room she did pace.

Worriedly wringing her hands,

as the hourglass poured its dreadful sands.

And she stood there with a twinkle in her eye.

"Izzy," she whispered. "I came to say goodbye."

And with that more ladies in blue walked in.

I knew it was time to begin.

Why can't I be normal like everyone else?

Instead I have this cancer,

and nothing could help.

They went to the robot-machines

and pulled some plugs.

I could barely feel the shower of hugs.

As I fell deeper into a sleep,

toward the tunnel I did creep.

Though my family I will miss,

I have found eternal bliss.
