Never Again

A Drabble by Tifa Tyndal

Summery: There were so many things that she would never do again. (Drabble)

Disclaimer: Oi! (looks down at her drabble) I better not own Inuyasha…and this drabble is proof I don't. Rumiko I-don't-think-I-can-spell-her-last-name does. : )

Spoiler Warning: Uhm, a lot of this is speculation so don't think you're getting spoiled when you read this because it's just a bit of wild imagination. Know who Shippo, Miroku, Sango, and Kaede are in addition to the ever famous Kagome and Inuyasha and you're safe from spoilers.

She knew that it was wrong. She knew that she would regret it later but right now she didn't care. No, she didn't care. Not in the least bit. Naraku was defeated. It was finished and as she had promised herself she was going home. And she didn't care.

Simple, Kaede said. It was simple to block the well. One arrow. One simple arrow would seal the well forever.

She thought about how she would never see Inuyasha again. She would never see his rare smile or experience the occasional hug. She would never bathe in a hot spring with Sango while they talked about girl things that she so rarely was able to talk about. She would never slap the perverse Miroku again or hear his wise guidance. Never again would Shippo slip in her lap every time she sat down and she would never see him entertaining the village children by shape-shifting into mushrooms and cute little animals. But she didn't care.

Never again would she breath the oh so sweet air of Feudal Japan. Never again would she ever mutter the words "I sense a shard" or "Sit boy!" and have someone always react. She would never sit by the fire cooking Ramen for her eager companions. The only demons she would have to face were her petty problems. But she didn't care. She didn't even care that never again would she feel the contentment and safety she felt when at night while she slept she knew that Inuyasha was watching her ready to protect her at a moments notice. Never again. Never again.

And then, as she aimed her arrow perfectly and thought of all these things, suddenly,

She cared.

There you have it! A short little drabble I actually wrote before I watched any of the series. I think I had a read some manga… anyway this was, one of the first things I wrote. I hope you enjoyed it! –The Author
