Prologue

Bright green eyes fluttered open as the sun shone its glittering rays of light down on the camp. Percy slowly rose as his hand subconsciously reached for the drawer on his left. Inside was his most prized possession. A coral ring with patterns of owls on it. The green of the coral fused with the grey owls perfectly as it looked like the owls were in a forest. There was a small but delicately crafted inscription on the base of the ring which read:

Wise Girl And Seaweed Brain Forever.

Percy smiled contentedly as he stared at the ceiling of his cabin, lost in thought. After about half an hour he ran to the arena to practice his sword fighting. Once he got there he drew Anaklusmos, its bronze blade sparkling in the light of the sun. He activated 4 automatons, and started practicing on them. He slashed an automation and kicked it into the second one. The third and fourth ones charged at him from his left and right so he rolled to the side and they stabbed each other. He was about to leave when he felt a blade striking his arm. He whirled around and lobbed the head of the 2nd automaton off. Sweaty and tired he ran to the drinks cooler and poured some ice cold water on himself. Suddenly he heard a horn sound. With a grimace, he sprinted to the camp borders, preparing for battle. Ahead stood an army of around 400 monsters with the campers forming a defensive line among the barrier. The monsters were mainly consisted of dracanae, cyclopes and hellhounds along with three hydras. He also saw that the Ares and Hephaestus cabins were separated from the rest of the camp. Determined, he ran to their aid as they were starting to get overwhelmed. Uncapping riptide, he charged straight into a line of dracanae. He slipped in between two, slashing the right one with riptide before spinning to avoid a hellhound's claws. Slashing at the hellhound with his sword he kept advancing into the enemy ranks. The line of spears from the Ares cabin acted as a line of teeth slowly grinding into the enemy. Continuing he whirled and dodged the weapons as he used his sword to chop through them. Arrows missed him as continued his path of destruction. Soon most of the army had fallen and a layer of golden dust scattered the battlefield. Percy soon ran in front of his allies as he led the charge, sword out intending to finish off the threat as quickly as possible. After a few minutes, everyone was cheering as the enemy had been defeated. Suddenly Percy felt a blade enter his Achilles spot as he jolted upright from the shock and pain. Slowly his legs gave out from under him as he knelt. Silence enveloped the battlefield

The gods watched proudly as Percy had yet defended another monster attack from the camp. However, their reactions changed from pride to shock as they saw a spear pierce Percy's body. Paul, a Hermes boy held the spear as an expression of glee crossed his face. After a second of silence the throne room erupted into arguments. Apollo and Hermes demanded that Paul should be sentenced to Tartarus. Ares wanted to congratulate the boy. Others just sat there unable to comprehend what had happened. Poseidon was sobbing uncontrollably while Hestia and Demeter were trying to comfort him. Zeus just sat in his throne looking rather indifferent.

"A HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA, " A deep voice chuckled maniacally. "You're hero is dead. Soon the world will be all mine!"

All of the Olympians turned with weapons on hand at the sound of the new voice. However they found nothing.

"Who dares to enter the throne room!' Zeus shouted.

Suddenly they felt the temperature plummet to icy temperatures. Shivering, they tried to teleport but found that it was blocked by an unknown power.

" Show yourself, coward," squeaked a frail looking Hera.

"If you insist," the voice all but purred.

The throne room was plunged into darkness. In the middle of the room a small flame ignited, slowly growing until it was the size of a man. Out of the flame walked a man. He had pale skin with pitch black hair. His eyes were as dark as midnight. The light in the room decreased as the all the shadows seemed to bend towards him.

"If my mere presence makes you tremble before me, crushing you will be a piece of cake!" he said with a dark chuckle.

" wh-who are you?" Athena stammered.

" I am your doom. I am the lord of shadows, husband of Nyx. I am Erebus, Primordial god of darkness. My army and I will crush you and send you to the deepest pits of my brother. This war shall be your greatest and your last." He laughed maniacally. Then he flashed away.

Apollo then summed it up perfectly." Well, we're in deep shit."
