"Hey, Octopus, what we gonna do tonight?!" Jedediah called to his friend, climbing over the edge of the Roman diorama.
"Jedediah, did you just call me 'Octopus'?" the general sighed, clenching his fists in anger.
He hated when people got his name wrong, and, whilst he was up for nicknames, he didn't care too much for this one.
"Yeah, 'cause you're name's Octavius, and Octopus sounds like it!"
"Ha ha, so funny, I forgot to laugh."
"Aww, come on Octy, where's your sense of humour?" the cowboy pouted.
Another sigh.
"Jedediah, is there any other reason you feel 'Octopus' is a fitting name? Other than the fact that it sounds like my name."
"Well, sorta. And would you please call me 'Jed' sometimes? 'Jedediah' sounds too fancy al the time."
"If you insist. But don't change the subject - what is the reason you thought to call me 'Octopus'?"
"Well, octopuses have lots of arms, and like to wrap them around their prey."
"Please expand?"
"I wanted you to hug me." the blond whispered, looking towards the ground, a bright red blush crossing his cheeks.
"You are too adorable for your own good sometimes." Octavius shook his head with a smile. "And don't try to deny it - you just asked for a hug in the most round-about way you could, and if that's not adorable, I don't know what is."
"Do I get the hug then?" Jed looked up with a shy smile.
"Of course you do!" Octavius cried, opening up his arms. "Come here!"
Jedediah almost launched himself into the dark-haired man's arms, wrapping his own around the elder's waist.
"What on Earth has made you want a hug?" Octavius asked, rubbing the younger man's back slightly.
"I didn't get to thank you properly for saving me from that hourglass."
"Oh yes." the Roman smiled. "Think nothing of it. But, I would like to hear what you were going to say when you thought you were going to die. About our relationship?"
The blond's cheeks went red again.
"I think that's a conversation for another day."
"If you insist." Octavius smiled.
