DISCLAIMER: I do regret to tell you that I don't own Doctor Who.

They walked back to the TARDIS, hand in hand, not saying a word. The Doctor could hear Rose sniffle was they walked. He inserted the key into the TARDIS and opened it. He let Rose walk in first and watched as she went through one of the corridors to her room.

He closed the door and followed the girl. Her door was open and she was sitting on her bed, back against the wall. She had stopped crying, but dried tears were still on her face. Rose Tyler had been his traveling companion for a while now and they had a special bond. Not the kind that everyone they had come across suspected of. They trusted and relied on each other. It was a lot more he could say about the human race.

He went and sat down next to her. Rose put her head on his shoulder, "Despite popular belief, it doesn't get better." the Doctor said.

"It'll hurt more now that I've actually met him." They sat there for some time not speaking. The Doctor noticed that she was asleep but he didn't move.

He waited until he was sure that she was fast asleep. He gently laid her head on a pillow as he got up and put a blanket over her. She looked rather peaceful; her pain wasn't showing. He left her there and walked to the center of the TARDIS and sat in his favorite chair.

The Doctor thought back to Rose in her bed. Yeah she did look rather peaceful.
