Airports Are Not For Waiting
Running through the crowd searching for him, Sam fidgeted with her ring, which he had surprised her with.
Pulling it off and bouncing it back and forth between her fingers, slipping the ring back on and then pulling it back it off again, she looked at the plane arrival time table in desperation. Not finding the number, she realized, she had taken the wrong exit.
Returning to the parking lot, she could not remember where she had parked her car. Walking up and down the rows, Sam found it parked between a van and a pick-up truck. Sitting in the car, she breathed slowly in and out trying to calm her nerves.
When driving through the airport parking lot, Sam made sure she drove to the correct terminal.
After locking her car, she started playing with her ring again. Entering the hall she saw him regarding his surroundings for a sign of her. She stopped playing with her ring, pushing it back on her finger. Sam started walking towards him in anticipation, since she hadn't seen him in a month. Turning around he saw her stop in her tracks. Again she started walking but then picking up speed, not wanting to wait any longer to feel his arms around her. He dropped his bags onto the floor not caring if something broke or not and walked towards her, trying to stay calm.
A smile spread over his face and she notices, she probably had the same smile. Springing into his arms she couldn't feel the ground under her feet anymore.
Jack had picked her up and made her fly in a circle with him in the center. He felt her tears of happiness tickling his cheek.
Pulling back to look at him, Sam asked. "Can you stay with me, now?" Jack's smile grew wider and she thought she could see his eyes sparkling.
"Let's go home," Jack said. He picked up his two bags and transferred them into one hand. With the other he took Sam's hand and laced his fingers with hers walking towards the sliding doors.
The End
