Jess woke up on a Tuesday morning to get ready for school. It was his usual routine, get dressed, brush his teeth, take a shower, and eat. My life is so boring, except for going to Terabithia with Leslie, Jess thought to himself. Jess' mother asked him, "Jess, I thought I told you to take a shower." "Mom, I took one!" "Your barely even wet!" "I took one fast." "I'd say!" Jess sighed. "Honey, what do you want?" "Pancakes, please." His typical day. Jess wished his life could be more exciting than just Terabithia. "There's only one left, Jess." "So?" "So? May Belle was going to have pancakes, and she asked me first." He groaned. "Then I guess I won't eat." "Jess you still have to eat something." "Mom, I only have 12 minutes until I have to wait outside for the bus." "That's plenty of time." "Now, I guess you'll have to have Cheerios." "Fine. OK." He wasn't up for cereal today, but his mother made sure all her children ate their breakfast, everyday.
Jess sat next to Leslie on the bus. "What's going on at home?", she asked. "Just the usual thing. I guess you would say I have a boring family." "I don't think your family is boring. "They seem kinda interesting." "Interesting? We're just an average family. Your parents are a lot more interesting then mine." "Well, I guess. I don't know." she replied. Leslie stated, " But we're interesting people. We are very creative. Jess, you shouldn't worry about your family being ""boring"", like you said, they're average. Just like my parents." "But they're authors." "And your point? I feel bored of my parents sometimes too."
The bus arrived at the school. They had Miss Edmunds class in the morning. They sang there favorite song, "Why Can't We Be Friends". They were having such a great time when all of sudden a kid yelled, interrupting the song, "FIRE!!!"
