Moonrays and Sunlight

The moon rises and sets,
Illuminates and binds,
Christens yet chastises,
Takes control of the mind.

The rays pierce a forest,
Illuminating the scene,
Of bedraggled fur,
And weeping eye's,
Mournful howls soon arise.

Rays cover a house,
All pristine and clean,
And soon illuminates the scene,
Of a mangled bundle, sprawled on a bed,
Tossing and turning,
Screaming in dread.

The rays dance over a hut,
Lighting the scene,
A tubby man staring, as if in a dream,
Silver hand glinting, shivering in cold,
A wail of regret is all but foretold.

Moon does set, and sun does rise.
Sunshine does dry the eye's
Of a werewolf now all but alone,
Resting peacefully on ground unknown.

Cracking through curtains,
Spreading warmth on a face,
Stealing self blame, and leaving a smile in place,
Black dog does race through his dreams,
Putting living godson at ease.

Sunshine does nought for tubby man,
Grief does haunt him at every turn,
Memories blind him throughout the day,
Forever will he have to pay
