"You have to promise me, Soul. If I let the madness consume me, you have to exterminate me."

And here they were—Months later, the insane stricken Reaper hunched over the weapon, the red and black blade jammed straight through his chest, blood dripping from the corner of his mouth, eyes wide—The madness slowly seeping out as his body shut down.

He had to do it.

He kept his promises—Every single one he made to the Meister.

And this was the hardest one he ever had to keep.

Completely frozen in his spot the scythe's arm suddenly changed back, the Reaper's body lurching slightly as the blade as taking out of his body, the weapon's arms going around to catch the boy before he fell, slowly bringing his body to the ground instead, the Meister's head resting now against Soul's chest, once bright, golden eyes now fading into darkness.

"Kid—Kid I'm so sorry…"

He murmured out weakly, shaking his head as tears welled in his eyes, soon slipping down his cheeks and dropping onto the Reaper's own. Sobs were threatening to wrack through his body—But he kept them in, for now, at least.

A limp hand came up to rest against the boy's cheek, red hues shifting down as they met the darkened eyes of the other boy—All signs of madness now gone from his entire being.

"Please…Don't cry, Soul…You kept your promise…"

A weak smile pulled at his lips as he kept his gaze shifted up at the weapon, thumb slowly moving to wipe the tears off his cheeks.

Soul kept Kid cradled in his arms, tears continuing to slip from his eyes as he fought to say anything—Though, almost as if he knew the boy's finger was to his lips, those weak, almost pathetic looking now eyes still staying locked with his own.

"Thank you, love…Please don't be upset, you…Had no choice…"

Within in instant the Reaper's hand dropped, all color now escaping those once, bright golden hues. The boy once so full of life, was now empty.

Eyes widening Soul only stared for a moment longer—He felt sick to his stomach, like his heart had practically broken in two.

It was over—It was too late now.

He'd kept his promise, but only ended up hurting himself in the end.
