I do not own Criminal Minds

Prologue

He was running through the forest, his legs ached and yet he couldn't give up, not now, not ever. He didn't know how much longer he had to go, whether it was seconds or long pain filled minutes. He could hear Morgan's voice yelling at him through his walkie-talkie that was clipped on his belt loop. Every time Morgan yelled at him to turn around, telling him that there was no point, it was too late; it made him run just a little bit faster. Knowing that he was the only one who could save her now had his body pumping full of adrenaline. He ran around all the time for his job but this was nothing compared to what he was used to. After what felt like hours but was just a few minutes he could see the clearing ahead of him. As he came closer to the clearing he could see the old, red brick house that the love of his life was being held in. When he finally reached the edge of the forest he bolted for the house, not caring that he had no swat team or back up or any idea how many armed people were inside waiting for him. All he cared about was finding her safe and sound. As he reached the front steps of the house he could feel his heart pounding outside of his chest and yet he didn't even hesitate before he busted through the front door of the unsub's house.
