Imelda never understood why she was so drawn to him. Since the first day she saw him when he walked in her kindergarten classroom as the new kid, she found that it was difficult to not look at him. There was something so familiar about him even though she had never met him before. She couldn't figure out why the sight of his black eyes brought her a feeling of so much frustration and anger, but she knew it was not fair. He had not done anything to her, so she knew the feeling of anger she got around him was unjustified. When he was around, she did her best to act kindly to him. Giving him a smile and offering him assistance whenever she could. He was just another kid as her, after all.

Gedeon couldn't help but be annoyed by that meddling dark skinned girl. He had always been a child who liked to figure things out on his own. He did not want anyone's help, yet there she always happened to be at the first sign of frustration. If there was something on a shelf he couldn't reach, she'd be standing nearby with a box for him to stand on. If he didn't understand the rules of a game, she was there to take him to the side and explain them to him. If he was having trouble drawing something, she was always there to give him advice. It was just plain annoying and infuriating, but he tolerated it. He felt one day there would be something that he would be better at than her, and when that day came he would laugh in her face and refuse to help her.

Unbeknownst to them, the two of them were connected by something very rare in the world they now resided in.

Fate.

The anger they felt towards one another was the result of a very tiny awareness they had for each other locked deep within the subconscious of their minds. This was the only bit of memory they had left over from their past life. She had once been a strong warrior defending and protecting the savior of a world unknown to her now, and he had been the servant of the demonic tyrannical being who wanted nothing more than that world's devastation. They were born in that world to be enemies, but in this world they were just two kids who didn't like each other. Like all children, however, they had the ability to change over time, and the only thing that could turn their dislike of each other to hatred was circumstance. They no longer had any specific destiny.
