A/N: I suddenly got this idea for a one-shot when I was reading Bisco Hatori's Ouran High School Host Club. It got it for Christmas. At the end of the seventh volume, there was a little short story labeled as "Love Egoist". It has nothing to do with the main plot of Ouran High School Host Club. Anyway, in that story, I got an idea that fit just perfectly with Eyes and Kirie. It is very short, but there isn't anything bad about that is there?

An Addictive Taste
Eyes Rutherford woke up that morning, his silver hair a mess against the pillow and his sapphire blue eyes on the ceiling. He wanted to stay in bed, but it was not like him to be so lazy. He wanted to remain inside his room so he would not have to deal with that woman who always smoked. (Perhaps it was better to stay outside all day?) She had tried to stop for his sake, but could not get through a week without a cancer stick. How annoying.
Grudgingly, he got up, preparing himself for the day. Before leaving his room, he took a deep breath knowing that his apartment flat smelt of nicotine and tar. He opened the door to find the woman sitting at the dining table, a book in one hand, and a cigarette in another. She was Kirie Tsuchiya, a Watcher of the Blade Children at only the age of twenty-three. She had long, light pink hair and garnet colored eyes. She was proud and arrogant and staying with Eyes in his flat for the time being.
As Eyes closed the door behind him, Kirie looked up from her book. "Oh, look who it is – Sleeping Beauty," she said sarcastically. "While you were asleep, Rio came with breakfast, but we both finished it all. Oh well."
Eyes gave her a cold stare. "That's fine. I'm going out anyway." He grabbed his coat and went for the door. He just hoped she wouldn't ask –
"Well, if you are going out, do you mind getting me another pack of cigarettes? I'm running out now," Kirie called to his retreating back.
Nevermind. She had asked.
Eyes said nothing as he left his apartment. He had breakfast at the local restaurant before taking a quiet stroll through the park. He resumed writing piano pieces at a café, ignoring Kirie's request of a pack of cigarettes. She must be pissed now.
Eyes stayed out until after he was done with his dinner. As he walked home, he passed a vending machine filled with cigarettes. He glanced at him, spotting the ones Kirie liked. It had a large amount of tar in them. Eyes placed money into the machine and chose a pack that had less tar. It was better to gradually lessen the tar, he thought.
He went back to his apartment, bracing himself for the woman's wrath. When he opened the door, Kirie was indeed irritable. She was sitting beside a table next to the window, a book in her hand and a lollipop in her mouth.
"Here." Eyes handed her the pack of cigarettes he had gotten for her.
"It's about time," she snapped. "What's more is that you didn't get the kind I like."
"They were out." Eyes lied coolly.
He stood there in front of her, watching her every move. She opened the pack and put one into her mouth and lit it up.
"How is it?" he asked. Kirie could distinctly hear the triumph in his tone. She saw traces of a smirk around his lips. She wanted to say that it was like breathing in air. Disgusting.
"Do you want to know what they taste like?" She asked. She grabbed his arm and pulled him low enough for their lips to meet.
The kiss had a bittersweet taste – it was a mixture of nicotine, tar, and sugar. To Eyes, it wasn't the kiss or the taste that felt addictive. It was her.
And there you go. In the "Love Egoist" story, the part when Mr. Saginuma grabs Sumire Nakamori's arm and kisses her is what influenced me to write this very short one-shot. I though it was cute. Well, I guess you have to read it in order to know what I mean, really. Well, review anyway and tell me what you think!
