The Kurosaki house was possibly the quietest it had been in years. No sound of an over-excited adult's voice keeping up the neighbors, nor the sound of his young daughters ordering him to calm down or calling their brother to collect his dinner. Not even Ichigo could be heard crashing about in rage, cursing and shouting. It was as if death itself had swept over the household whilst they dreamed and stolen their lives.
But if truth be told, only one Kurosaki life had been stolen that night.
Yuzu and Karin had been reluctantly tucked up in bed, leaving only Ichigo and Rukia up and about. They were both in Ichigo's room, silent and reliving the events of the passing day.
He was staring out of the window onto the blank and deserted street, leaning on the sill. Rukia just sat on her bed inside his closet and looked at him. He had been silent for the last two hours. He hadn't even mumbled anything. Rukia had never seen him so quiet. She'd do anything to just break that suffocating silence that filled the room. Like an invisible smoke that was slowly choking her.
"Ichigo?"
"Mmmm?"
Finally…she thought, finally you're willing to talk…
"Are you OK?"
I'm SO stupid!!! Why did I say something like that? Of course he's not OK!! Damnit!!
"What do you think?" Ichigo turned to her desperately, looking as if he was close to tears. Rukia gave him a sympathetic look and jumped down out of the closet. Ichigo turned away again to face the street. Rukia stood behind him for a moment.
Rukia wrapped her arms around him and smiled gently. Although she couldn't see his face, she knew he was fighting back the tears. His body was tense and an air of uneasiness surrounded him.
"I…I can't believe he's…he's gone…" Ichigo whispered softly.
"Cry." Rukia said plainly.
"Huh?!" Ichigo snapped.
"Cry, Ichigo. It's alright to cry. It'll help you shed some grief." Rukia let go as he turned around towards her, a look of confusion spread across his face. He now leaned his back against the sill.
"But I have to stay strong for Yuzu and Karin-"
"It's alright, no one can see you. They won't know if you cried or not. You're allowed to cry, you know." She embraced him again, this time she felt him hug her back tightly - almost smothering her to death in fact!
So, Ichigo cried. More than he ever imagined he would. But, strangely enough, it didn't feel too bad. Ever since his mother had died, he'd kept his feelings locked up inside - thinking that he had to stay strong for his sisters and father, but now, loosing his father and discovering that he really did have to look after his siblings, he'd had to set an example. And like Rukia said, it was alright to cry - and keeping feelings inside didn't help anyone.
...and keeping feelings inside dosen't help anyone...so why is it so damn hard to tell him how I feel?
Awwwwwwwwww...BUT, was it good or not so good? That is the question to which you lot must answer, or you will DIE!!! Die, i tells ya! DIEEEEE!!!!! Anywho, hope ya'll liked it! Mwah to all! DX - i mean XD!
