Hatters POV
"When I first met Alice she was little more than 6 years old, such a sweet girl, wondering around Underland calling it ''Wonderland''. She walked right up to my tea party, sat down and asked for a cup, like she had done it every day of her life. Then calmly as you please she got up and proceeded to overthrow the BloodyBig Head the first time. And she walked away from Underland, from me," I said, with a sad sigh. "As if it had all been a dream."
"10 years later she walked back into my tea party, led by none other than Chess, of all people. A bit smaller perhaps, well a lot smaller, tiny in fact. I had to make her a new dress. Sweet Alice, she thought I was a dream, you know. Some mad bit of fancy that her brain had thought up to escape that dreadfully boring fiancé of hers. But that's off track, anyway, Alice was back to save us all again, she stole the Vorpal sword, killed the Jabberwalky, overthrue that horride BloodyBig Head AGAIN, and…left me once again." I said, this time with tears glittering in my vision as I remembered that day so long ago.
Flashback
"You could stay." Hatter said, his big mismatched eyes sad because he already knew her answer.
"What an idea. A mad, crazy, wonderful idea. But I can't I have questions to answer, things to do, but I will be back."
"you won't remember me." Hatter replied with a sad sigh. "Fairfarren Alice.
End Flashback
"She drank the Jabberwalky blood and faded from my sight." I said the tears rolling freely down my face. "she was just….gone…"
Alice's POV
"she was just…gone.." I heard Hatter say, wondering who he was talking to. When I walked into the room I saw my husband and youngest son setting together on the couch in the living room, drinking…you guessed it… tea.
"Charles Hightopp, I told you to go to bed an hour ago. What are you still doing up? And Tarrent you promised Chess his hat would be finished tomorrow. You two will be the death of me." I said, with a laugh, whipping the tears off Hatters face.
"Please mommy, the story's almost over." my son begged, and with his fathers eyes I was helpless to say no.
"Fine," I sighed "and the rest of you may as well come in too, no sense in you all skulking in the doorway." There was a rush of feet as my two other children came running in from the other doorway. "All right we were at Alice drinking the Jabberwalky blood right darling?"
Hatters POV
Yes, now i was so sad that Alice had drunkin the blood because I was sure she wasn't coming back, but I waited, and waited, and waited, and finally during one afternoon tea, this beautiful woman in a blue dress walked out of the tree's proud as you please, sat right down. In the middle of MY tea party, unannounced and said.."
"Good sir, you remind me of someone I met in a dream once." Alice said with a smile remembering her return well.
"Well you would have to be half mad to dream me up." I replied with a smile.
"Then it is a good thing that I am completely mad then isn't it." Alice said with a smile "because if I am completely mad, then you must be real. And to tell you a secret all the best people are mad!"
"Indeed." I said with a smile remembering something else. "By the way, Why is a raven like a writhing desk?" I asked addressing the whole room. Four voices answered "I haven't the slightest idea." With a laugh I sent all my children to bed.
"Hey Alice" I say, when she went to pick up the tea tray.
"yes love?"
"I think that you've always been my girl, and I wouldn't have it any other way. Have I told you today that I love you?"
"Only a million times"
"Then a million more should do it." I said with a kiss.
The End.
