Annabeth wasn't amused with Percy. Like, at all. He came to visit the camp often, which is part of the reason why she was so annoyed with him. Ever since he choose to become immortal and a god, he started acting like a know-it-all brat. But everyday, he did the same thing. He had to prove to her that he didn't like all the nymphs and minor goddesses that came after him. So, everyday, he bought her a bouquet of white roses and told her he loved her. A few times, he even got Apollo to play the lyre. But, she just slammed the door in her face. So, he tried a different tactic. He got one white rose, no Apollo, and took her to Camp Half-Blood's beach. They stood out on the sand, water lapping their toes. "Come on wise girl," said Percy. "Take a chance." She didn't look amused. That didn't last long. She plucked the rose out of his hands and started to smile. "You know," she started, "I love you." He smiled. "I know." he replied. So, she let the rose drop into the water, and went to pounce on him. He let her get a few kisses in, then stopped her. "Watch." he said, before she could get mad at him for pushing her off. He turned the water in a spiral around the rose, lifting it off the ground. With a gentle swiping movement, he willed the water to sweep the rose behind her ear. He picked her up and carried her to the lake. "Percy! Percy, no!" she said. But she was laughing, so he kept walking into the water. He smiled. "Hold your breath." he said. She took a deep breath and closed her eyes as they submerged. He made a giant air bubble around them when they got completely covered in the water. "Let go." he said. She let go of her breath and opened her eyes. He smiled at her. He leaned in gently, and pressed his mouth to hers. He was wrong before. This. This is the greatest underwater kiss of all time. He willed them to go up, completely dry. Everyone cheered. Apollo came anyway. Music and laughter and a gentle chatter filled the camp. Percy and Annabeth locked eyes. They both knew by looking into each others eyes, the same thing. Best. Day. Ever.
