Never

He sat in the back of the church and watched her, she was beautiful in that dress that hugged every perfect curve on that body. He closed his eyes as memories of their night together, the feel of her lips on his, the feel of her skin against his still gave him chills.

The minister smiled as the ceremony continued by asking for the rings, as he sat there staring at her from the back of the church he couldn't help but think, that could have been me, I love her. His body screamed for her, every inch of him wanted every inch of her, she was the woman he wanted to spend the rest of his life with.

As he watched her standing there holding those flowers he couldn't help but imagine himself standing there across from her with his hand in hers. He could see it all like it was happening, he could see the rest of their wedding, their honeymoon, her growing big with his child.

He sighed as he watched her hand her flowers to her friend, ohhhh how he longed to be there standing with her, why hadn't he had the courage to tell her how he felt, why was he such a coward. As the wedding continued he shook his head, no, no he had to stop this, he couldn't let her marry another man.

He sat there listening as she said her vows to her groom and he wanted it to be him, ohhhh how he wanted it to be him, he never ever wanted to be without her, never. She grinned as he said his vows to her, he meant every word that the other man said, why oh why couldn't he be brave enough to say it, why couldn't he just simply said, "I LOVE YOU, YOU BELONG WITH ME".

His hands were wet, so he wiped them on his pants, this was happening, she was actually going to marry him, he was losing her forever, nooooo that couldn't happen, not now, not ever. The minister finally said, "if their is anyone that can show just cause why these two can't be lawfully joined, let them speak now or forever hold their peace, that was his chance.

Nervously he stood up and said, "PLEASE DON'T MARRY HIM, MARRY ME, I LOVE YOU", he watched as she turned around and looked at him. He watched as she looked at her groom and said, "I can't do this, I love you but I'm not in love with you".

He was so happy as he watched her run up the aisle toward him, she wrapped her arms around him and said, "I love you" before claiming his lips with hers. The new groom wrapped his arms tighter around her and said, "I'll never give up on us, never".

She laughed and said, "I didn't think this day would come, I never thought you would tell me you loved me", he wiped away the tears that were streaming down her face and said, "I've always loved you, it's always been you, never ever forget that".

She caressed the side of his face and said, "marry me", he smiled and said, "will you do me the honor of becoming my wife"?, she threw her head back and laughed as she said, "yes, yes, yes of course I'll marry you, I love you", he grinned his famous smile and said, "I love you to, please never doubt my love for you ever again".

She shook her head and said, "never ever", as they ran from the church their friends clapped their hands and cheered them on. Everybody knew that they belonged together, nobody else ever doubted their love, why did he, why did he doubt that he was good enough for her.

As their life continued they got married, had an amazing honeymoon, continued on to have 3 sons and 3 daughters, 15 grandchildren and 30 great grandchildren. They had a long and happy life together and every night they would tell each other, "never doubt my love".

They laid in bed holding each others hands, she looked over at him and said, "I loved you then and I love you now, I'll never doubt my love". He smiled at her and said, "I loved you then and I love you now and I'll never doubt my love for you".

They spent that night like they had every other since that fateful day, wrapped in each others arms and never ever did they ever doubt their love again.
