Prologue:
After Coda
"I get it now," Beth said.
Beth knew that she would have to die so that Noah could go with the group. she was scared, but she knew it was for the best.
She felt the scissors slide into her hand and she quickly stabbed them into Dawn's vest. Dawn gave a shriek causing Daryl to go towards Beth, but before he could, Dawn shot Beth in the head.
When Beth went down, Daryl went down. Not physically, but mentally. In that moment, he lost his light.
Dawn was so shocked by what just happened, she didn't even realized what she done. She eventually muttered out,
"No, I didn't mean to..."
With that, Daryl knew he had to finish what Beth started. He took out his pistol, and in retaliation, shot Dawn in the head. This, however, did not bring Beth back to him.
He started to cry and cry. He got down on his knees and cradled her into his chest. She countined to bleed. Daryl tried to stop the bleeding by applying delegate pressure to the front and back of her head. It eventually stopped, but he knew that she was gone. He held her for what seemed like forever.
He heard Rick talking to the cops on the other side, but he just ignored him. His full attention was towards Beth.
"I'll be gone someday,"
"Stop,"
"I will,"
"You're gonna be the last man standin',"
...
"You're gonna miss me so bad when I'm gone Daryl Dixon..."
At the time, Daryl thought it was just Beth doubting her true strength, but he never would expected this.
He never wanted to be the last man standing. He wanted her by his side all the time. He wanted to start over with her.
"Daryl, Daryl!" Rick says, pulling Daryl out of his current state.
"We go to go."
He just gave him a slight nod. He picked up Beth, thinking it was just like the day at the funeral home. Beth and Daryl both were happy and safe. He never got to tell her what changed his mind. From the first moment at the moonshiner's shack, it was her, it was always her.
"There's still good people Daryl,"
He walked out with Beth. Seeing Maggie just made it a whole lot worse for him. It marked all the more pain of failing Beth for not reuniting her with her sister.
"BETH! NO!" Maggie screams as she hits the pavement.
"You ain't never gonna se Maggie again!"
He wold take it all back so that he could take her place. it should of been him to die today, not her. The new world is gonna need Beth Greene. That just proves to Daryl that the world would only get worse. The last shimmering od light went out today, and it wasn't ever gonna come back.
One day, he would see her again, smiling and singing, saying,
"You've missed so bad didn't ya Daryl Dixon?"
Until that day, Daryl realized that he is in love with Beth Greene. She was the only person who saw good in him. Who always believed that he was a good man.
"We have to leave her here." Rick suddenly states.
"No!" Daryl says, snuggling Beth tighter in his arms.
"She's dead! Judging by the way she looks, she was as good as dead since day one of this apocalypse!" Abraham shouted.
"Shut your mouth! You don't even know what she was capable of! She saved my life! She's strong!" Daryl yelled .
"Not strong enough for this world." Abraham muttered.
With that statement, Daryl's face turned red. He was ready to pound him, but Maggie got to him first.
"She was my baby sister!" she spat at him.
"And this is the first time I'm hearing about her, you probably thought she was dead all this time." Abraham screamed.
Maggie just looked down, tears coming from her face.
"Daryl, it's not safe here, we need to go." Rick said calmly, kneeling over Daryl holding Beth.
"But, it does matter," Daryl manages to get out.
"Beth would want you to survive, she would want you to be safe, she..."
"She would want me to honor her. "
"I want you to stop acting like you don't give a crap about anything,"
"Alright, Tyreese, Sasha, get started on a grave..." Rick began until,
"You should just burn her," Abraham spoke up.
At that point, Glenn hit him in the back of the head with his rifle, instantly knocking him out.
"No, we should make a shrine for her." Daryl said holding her close.
"Where?" Maggie asked looking up from the ground.
"At the hospital. She died in the hospital. She'll rest there." Daryl said standing up and walking back towards the hospital with Beth in his arms.
Everyone paid their respects, Daryl taking the longest. He made his first kiss with Beth in her room in the hospital. Even though she didn't kiss back, he gets to say that he kissed the most important essential in the world, Beth Greene.
He wraps a bandage around her head because it does matter. He places one of his bolts in Beth's hand, like a rose. He runs a hand through her golden hair, ignoring the wound.
"I'm glad I didn't say goodbye, I hate goodbyes,"
"Me too,"
He walks out of the room, and putting a sign on the door saying,
"Beth Greene, always has hope, never stops fighting, is the light of Daryl Dixon,"
Doctor Stevens promised that no one will ever open the door.
They leave Atlanta with grieving hearts. They make plans for Richmond, Virginia, so that Noah could be with his family, and a possible sanctuary.
Daryl would never forget Beth.
He would see her again, but until then, he would continue to survive for both him and her, but mainly for her.
This story will have surprises in the future, but this chapter is basically my theory of what happened to Beth's body in the show.
