Hey guys, welcome to this little thing I've started. If you've read SN32 or are reading it then you may or may not know that it is actually the 4th version of my original idea. That's right, I rewrote and reworked it 3 times before I was happy with my finished version. Since I actually liked the idea behind a couple of the drafts, I decided to upload them here instead of letting them collect digital dust. Also, I thought you guys might find it interesting to see a stage of the pre-production of SN32.

This chapter was the second version, I think, and it came a bit out of left field compared to the original idea. This version was inspired by my own life choices, with Naruko being interested in being a director. I really liked this idea as it was close to my own preferences, but in the end I just didn't see myself going as far as I wanted to go with it. I would tell you more about what I intended to do, and the reasons behing Naruko being a director, but they would inadvertently give spoilers for Seat Number 32.

Anyway, hope you enjoy, and thank you all for reading the proper SN32.

Scene One:

Action!

Negi never knew that it could get so hot in Japan, even in the summer. Of course, living in Wales all his life he had been subjected to a range of weather; wind and rain to name the most common. Due to the maritime climate of Wales, most of the year consisted of wet and windy weather, yet it remained mild in its nature. Summers in Wales were sunnier than the vast majority of the year, but the air remained cool- if anything it was warmer in the winter than the summer months.

So it was a bit of a culture shock for the boy when he found himself sweating heavily in July, and he had even had to forsake his blazer to withstand the heat. The heat was affecting all of them, and it was during a particularly stifling study session ("Come on Negi, it's Summer!" "Your studies are always important, Asuna-san!") that Asuna had, in typical Asuna fashion, finally snapped and loudly proclaimed her distaste for the temperature. It was Konoka who then recommended they take a break for some ice cream, which Asuna and Negi had been all for.

And that was how the three roommates found themselves walking through the street of the town, happily devouring the frozen treats that made serious headway in helping them battle the summer warmth.

"This is delicious!" Negi declared, taking another lick of his cone. "I never thought that green tea ice cream could be so tasty! Japan really is a wonderful place!" Konoka giggled into her hand, while Asuna rolled her eyes.

"Geez, it's just ice cream." She muttered, taking a small bite from her chocolate chip cone. Negi took a cheerful bite, bigger than her own and she glanced at him from the corner of her vision. "…Don't eat it so fast, you'll get a headache." Then she glanced away, blushing slightly as Konoka giggled again. Negi opened his mouth to reply, but a shout cut him off.

"EEHH?!"

"What was that?" Negi felt worry surge through him as the scream rang in his ears. Without a seconds hesitation the red haired boy ran down the street, his ice cream hitting the floor with a plop.

"Eh! Oi Negi, wait a minute!" Asuna quickly shoved her ice cream into her mouth and ran after him. As she ran, she slapped a hand to her forehead. "KYAH! Brain freeze!"

"Negi-kun, Asuna!" Konoka called after them, holding her hand out feebly. After a second, the dark haired girl chased after the two, carefully holding onto her cone.

Negi ran around a corner, staff at the ready to aid any in need; he stopped when he saw two girls standing in the middle of the street. The two were facing each other, and the area around them was clear. He stared with confusion for a moment, before he yelped when Asuna barged into him. "Ah! Negi, what the hell?" Negi swallowed when she glared at him, and he redirected her attention to the pair before them. Asuna blinked and followed his finger.

"B-But why, Emi-chan? Why after everything we've been through?" Auburn eyes, wide and pleading stared up into the stone cold expression of a teenage girl with flowing, violet hair. Cold grey bored down onto the trembling form of a golden tresseled girl, whose hands were clasped to her breast in an insecure manner.

"What's going on?" Asuna muttered, rubbing the back of her head, a small frown marring her face. "A break up?"

"What else is there to say? We're done." Her voice was a steely as her eyes as she addressed her companion; the two onlookers were shocked by how harsh the girl was being in both demeanour and wording.

"How cruel…" Negi frowned, not liking the way the shorter girl's eyes misted up. Her lip trembled, and her hands clenched her shirt tight.

"But, you haven't told me why-"

"Cut! Cut, cut, CUT!" The two girls blinked in confusion before turning to the side. Negi and Asuna, shocked out of their immersion with the scene, followed their line of sight. Sat in a fold up chair was a caramel skinned, teenage girl with short, blonde hair. Upon her head sat a black baseball cap with the words 'Director' written in bold white characters. Asuna slapped her forehead.

"Oh, I get it now- it's one of Naruko's films!" Asuna said in a tone that indicated she'd realised something. Negi blinked, before his mouth opened in remembrance. He pulled out the class roster from…somewhere and looked at the bottom left hand corner.

"That's Seat Number #32, Uzumaki Naruko-san, right?" Negi asked, and he received a nod from Asuna. Now that he looked at the scene closer, he could see some cameras dotted around the area, pointing at the two girls. "What do you mean by 'one of her films'?" He asked, turning back to his student. Asuna opened her mouth to explain, but a panting Konoka- who'd just arrived- beat her to it.

"She's the… president of the… TV and Film Club." The girl gripped the fabric of her shirt over her heart tightly, taking deep breaths. Once she calmed down, she turned to Negi with a smile. "Naruko is very passionate about television and films, and she and the rest of the TV and Film Club often make their own - they even have a weekly news program that report on the weekly events in Mahora City." She turned to look at the two girls- who Negi now realised were actresses- and gasped. "Those are Wanatabi Aki and Inoue Makoto, the stars of Mahora Lilies!" Asuna took a second look, and her eyes widened.

"Hey, you're right! They must be filming the sequel!" Konoka clapped her hands together.

"Wow, I'm so excited!" Negi looked up with a frown, feeling confused as to what they were talking about. Konoka noticed his expression and smiled. "Last year, Naruko wrote and directed a film called Mahora Lilies for a film festival, and it won first prize! It was praised for the realistic and accurate representation of a homosexual relationship between two teenage girls, and the struggles that they face in society! She won ¥150,000, which she donated to the school for better filming equipment."

"That's amazing!" Negi blurted, looking back at Naruko with awe in his eyes. The girl in question had left her seat and approached the actors, who looked rather nervous.

"Aki," They could hear her say as she clamped her hands on the shorter blonde's shoulders, "that was good, very good, but I'm gonna need more from you!" Aki seemed taken aback, and Naruko elaborated. "This girl has just crushed your heart, ripped everything that you thought would be from under your feet, scrunched it up into a tiny little ball and thrown it right into your face! You looked like she stood you up on your first date- sad but bearable!"

"Oh no, they break up?" Konoka covered her mouth with her hands, and even Asuna frowned.

"Damn, that sucks."

"S-Sorry, Naruko-san." Naruko waved her hand, as if brushing the apology away.

"Don't worry; if that's what the scene was about I'd be sold!" She grinned. "But what I need from you is heart wrenching agony, an emotional hurricane of woe…Do you have a pet, Aki?" Once again, Aki seemed taken aback, but non the less she answered.

"E-Erm, yes, my dog, Kiba." Naruko smiled.

"Heh, nice name; how much does he mean to you?" Aki returned the smile, hers brimming from happiness at the thought of her pet.

"Oh, he's like my best friend! I've had him since I was a little kid." Naruko's smile turned into a grin once again.

"Great; he died." Aki's smile fell from her face, while Makoto, Negi, Asuna and Konoka's jaws dropped.

"Wh-What?" Her wide eyes stared into Naruko's cerulean blue orbs, which, even from this distance, Negi could see were alight with a strange gleam to them. She wrapped her arm around the actress and turned her slightly.

"Imagine he's dead-" She ran her palm flat along the air before her, looking at Aki from the corner of her eyes. "smushed out along the road. His happy little eyes are pasted on the tarmac, and his legs are 6 feet away from each other!" She pointed at four different parts of the floor, and tears began to brim in Aki's eyes. "Let that image fill your mind!" Aki covered her face in sorrow, shaking from the image.

"Wh-Why would you- *sob*-" Naruko patted her on the shoulder.

"Keep that thought- Makoto." The purple haired girl flinched as she became Naruko's next target.

"Y-Yes, Naruko-sama!" She stiffened, as if being addressed by a drill sergeant.

"Again, nice job, I don't think I've ever seen such a blank expression before, and one of my classmates is Zazie Rainyday! But I don't need that right now; you're torn apart internally- ya' have to leave the girl you love to protect her! After barging through all of society's inhibitions and judgements, ya' have to throw that all away to protect her! Seeing her cry hurts, but it has to be done- to protect her!" With each sentence she got closer to Makoto, who was trying to lean away from her as subtly as possible.

"You're at boiling point, but you've shoved the lid on those feelings and are keeping them sealed tight! You're ready to burst and comfort her and tell her the truth! But. You. Just. Can't!" She leaned forward slightly, her arms bent in towards her body and her fists clenched. She quickly straightened up and grinned at both of them. "Now, both of you consider what I said and let's take it from the top!" She span on her heel and walked back to her seat, but stopped halfway. She turned back and groaned when she saw the three onlookers. "Urgh; take five, people!" She jogged over to them, telling Aki "Don't waste the sorrow! Keep it in until we start again!" on the way. She stopped before her classmates and teacher with a grin. Now that she was closer, Negi could make out three whisker like marks on each of her cheeks. "Hey, Asuna, Konoka, Negi-gaki" He spluttered at being called a brat, but was ignored, "nice to see you, but seriously, go away. We're trying to film here, and I don't want any spoilers getting out." Asuna's brow twitched.

"That's not how you usually ask for something you know; how about a please?" Naruko smirked.

"You're worried about manners? I need to grab my camera, 'cus I sure as hell wanna film the apocalypse live!" Asuna twitched again, and Negi decided to intervene before an argument could start.

"Sorry, Naruko-san, we didn't mean to interrupt. We didn't know that any filming was going on." Naruko deadpanned, before pointing behind them.

"You mean ya' didn't see the 'Don't enter, filming in progress' signs?" The three turned around and collectively sweatdropped.

"Oh…er…oops." Negi rubbed the back of his head sheepishly. Naruko sighed.

"Don't worry about it; it just means I need to put more measures in to stop people taking a peak." She pointed at them so suddenly that they flinched in surprise. "If Askaura gets wind about this film and comes a-spying, then I'm gonna beat the crap out of all of ya'!" She turned around and crossed her arms with a huff. "Stupid paparazzi has it in for me. Not my fault that her form of media is vastly inferior to mine- bitch."

"Are you two still arguing over that?" Asuna asked incredulously and Naruko sighed.

"I know right? Everyone already knows that TV and Film is far better than Newspapers! Both TV and Film are twice as better than boring old tabloids, so my club is clearly four times as better than hers!" Negi sweatdropped again, this time at her appalling grammar; he remembered that Naruko was only a few failed tests away from being on the level of the Baka Rangers. It amazed him that someone who does so poorly in class apparently had such skill in screenwriting. "If that Story-Whore thinks she can come here and find spoilers to publish in that stupid article of hers, then she has another thing coming!"

Negi paled slightly at the glare on her face- and it wasn't even directed at him! He wondered what kind of history she and Asakura Kazumi had, but he decided that it probably wasn't the time to ask her about it. Beside him, Asuna pulled her hand back from its likely course to his mouth, which reaffirmed his decision to remain silent. Naruko muttered under her breath for a bit, before Negi cleared his throat. When Naruko looked at him, he spoke. "Well then, we'll just get out of your way, Naruko-san."

"Cheers, I want to get this scene filmed by two, so I need to get a move on." She turned back around and starting yelling. "Ok people, I want this done in one take! Aki, remember that image! Makoto, remember what I said! Let's see some action people!" The three sweatdropped again at her abrasiveness, before turning around and leaving.

"I can't wait until it's done." Konoka said as they walked, taking a lick of her ice cream- which she'd miraculously kept a hold on. "I hope that Emi and Chiyo stay together!" Asuna nodded.

"Yeah, I mean, they kinda have to, after what happened in the first one."

"What happened?" Negi asked, and Konoka looked down with a grin.

"How about we watch it when we get back; we have it on DVD." Asuna grinned and pumped her fist.

"Hell yeah! Anything's better than studying!" Negi smiled and nodded in agreement.

"Sure!"

Naruko watched as the three roommates left, a small smirk playing on the corner of her lips. 'So, Negi Springfield huh? That was the first time we've really spoken.' She turned back to the set, watching as the preparations for the reshooting were being completed. 'With the son of the Thousand Master at Mahora, I'm sure there'll be a ton of interesting things to film.' Naruko grinned as her Assistant Director called the scene and take numbers; a clapperboard slammed shut.

"Action!"

"Unn!"

"Wrapped in dark clothes…a bloodsucking vampire!"

"A vampire you say?" Naruko entered the conversation as Kazizaki finished telling the class about the rumour of the vampire at Sakura Lane. Kazizaki flinched as a camera was shoved into her face, and Naruko peaked around the edge to look her in the eyes. "Mind explaining that again, for the weekly news?" The cheerleader sweatdropped, but before she could speak a growl sounded from behind Naruko.

"Hey Uzumaki, what do you think your trying to pull?" Naruko span the camera around (causing several girls to hastily cover themselves in their semi-naked state) and smirked at a girl with red hair, who was sending her a nasty look.

"What's wrong, Asakura? Upset that I thought of covering the vampire story and you didn't?" Asakura folded her arms and held up her nose, looking down on the blonde Director.

"Che, no one's going to want to watch your stupid news program anyway, so it doesn't matter." Naruko twitched

"That's rich, like anyone's gonna want to read your ancient newspaper? I'd sooner wipe my butt with it than read it!" The read haired Journalist seethed, before firing an insult back.

"It's better than watching that flashy, over the top nonsense you call a program! I've seen Godzilla movies with better special effects!"

"It's a damn lot more entertaining that reading some boring paper! No one wants to bother reading the news anymore! Besides, damn things too big to hold!"

"Just because you have the reading skills of a two year old doesn't mean everyone else does!"

"You don't need to be able to read to know the tripe that you write is utter crap!"

"You're one to talk! It takes half an hour for your lame news programme to start! I'm not sure I can even call the inane nonsense you feature news!"

"Hn, that's what's called entertainment! It's more interesting than reading off a piece of paper! Face it Asakura, your media is outdated and inferior!"

"OK, THAT DOES IT!"

"YOU WANNA GO BITCH?!" The two were in each other's faces, lightning sparking between their eyes as some of the others cheered at the prospect of a fight.

And that's the end of that. One day I might tell you guys more about where I was going with this idea, but until then, read Seat Number 32 :P

Later.

PS Chapter 6 of SN32 is in the works, but I'm very busy with Uni right now- I have two major projects I'm working on. Please be patient until the next chapter.
