Hello, thanks for reading this fan fiction. My name is Jackie:) and this is my first fanfic in English. English's not my first language, so please forgive me if I've made any mistakes (I'm sure there are a lot haha). Please just kindly leave a review so that I can correct them and make improvement. And oh yes, you can also recommend some songs for me to write the story. I may use them if I have got some ideas when I'm listening to them. Again, thanks for reading :)
I wanna be close to you
The room was dark, the spotlight was the only thing left in the whole world. Red, purple ... "Can't count." Regina thought. She raised her hand, sipped the light brown color liquid again.
She sat next to the bar with her back against the table, watching everyone in the club moved so slowly. It was like a slow motion movie, which was without any sound. But of course, it was with sound, and it wasn't slow motion.
The stereo of the nightclub was playing music and the people on the dance floor were swinging according to the beat.
It's only because Regina was drunk. Not really, really drunk, but she wasn't able to think clearly now.
"Pretty lady, isn't it boring to drink alone?" She realized that this man who came forward was talking to her after a few seconds. This was the third one of the night. She didn't answer, spent a few seconds to observe this man.
Blue eyes, the first thing Regina noticed about him were his blue eyes. She couldn't recognize the color of his hair. The spotlights of the nightclub shined on him. If she really had to describe it, she would say his color was multicolored, and was able to change color.
She giggled softly when she thought of those adjectives. Regina saw confusion from the blue eyes she was staring from the beginning and found out that she giggled. She bit her bottom lip, knowing that she would be extremely embraced for it.
The men put his left hand on the bar, staring at Regina's eyes and lean in with a smirk. Regina's lip parted, but she didn't make a sound. What should she do if he kisses her? She should give him a slap in his face, shouldn't she? Yes, she should, she answered herself silently.
But he didn't. He leaned and reached her ears. She could feel his breath on her ear. It gave a shiver to her whole body. "I'm playing 'Truth or Dare' with my friends, would you mind to do me a favor, milady? Let me buy you a drink."
"What's your dare then?" She asked with raising an eyebrow.
"Bringing you home."
She put her hands on his chest, fingers grabbing his collar. Pull him away for giving them some space. And then lean in to his ears, made sure her breath was in his ears. "Mr. blue-eyed, you think a drink can get me in your bed? I'm not like those women here."
Regina pulled him away, left the nightclub without paying for her drink. She felt that it was buzzing inside her head.
The men stood next to the bar, his blue eyes staring at the door of the nightclub. He listened to the song which was playing in the nightclub.
Lonely eyes've been watching me
I can see what you want me to see
I wanna be close to you
All I mean now is the dark, dancing shawdows move on to wide walls
I wanna be close to you
Here every eyes've been watching me
Leaving speed sin melodys
They make me get close to you
Oh other guys will sell you tricks, tell you lies to get the affairs
Don't let them get close to you
She was called and stopped after the moment she went out of the nightclub. "Regina!" Tink shouted out and grabbed right hand of Regina who was walking unsteadily. "I've been waiting for you for so long. Wasn't that you the one who said we will wait here?" She opened the door of the cab, helping Regina to get into it.
"It was you who left me inside the nightclub, and told me to..."
"Told you to make some new friends." Tink continued her sentence, "but I just saw you rejecting 2 new friends."
"If you're talking about a drunk who was nearly vomited on my new dress and a horny guy who came and simply put his hand between my thighs. Ps It seems that he is as old as my father. Then, yes. I rejected them." Regina lisped while leaning against the window.
"I want you to relax, but you just sit there. Not moving at all." Tink sighed.
"I was drinking, that's an action. So, I did move." Regina said, closing her eyes. She felt dizzy, her world was gyrating. "I think I didn't even pay for the drink..."
"Miss Mills, how did you walk out of the nightclub? You didn't pull your collar down to the bartender, did you?" Tink stared at her friend, waiting for her explanation.
Regina rolled her eyes. "I walked out in a just and honorable way." Tink was still waiting. And Regina continued. "There was a man, I left him there. So ..."The cab stopped and they got out of it.
"You left him the bill." Tink opened the door of the apartment, saying the sentence with a definite tone. "No, wait. So, you met three guys tonight? Except from Mr. Drunk, Mr. Lecher, and who was the last one?"
Regina pressed the button of the lift, tilted her head to the left instead of answering Tink. "You are not complaining, so I guess he is a nice new friend." Tink said while walking into the lift.
Regina stood in the corner of the lift, leaning against the wall and remained silent. Tink shouted loudly. "Regina! I ask you because we are friends. Answer me!"
"He's ... Mr. Blue-eyed ..." " Oh well, so he is a nice guy, isn't he?" Tink asked excitedly.
"Miss, what I need now is a nice sleep, so do you." Door of the lift opened, Regina pulled Tink out of it.
"Regina, I'm not gonna give up on it. You must tell me about it. All the details." Tink used her hand to stop the door from closing.
"Good night!" Regina smiled to her friend and pressed to close button on the wall of the lift.
She was so tired. She just took a shower quickly and then went to sleep.
She had a dream that night. She dreamt of a pair of blue eyes. But it faded away before she realized. Maybe it was inside a room which was located at the bottom of her heart.
Regina slept until afternoon. She woke up in a daze. Holding a mug which was bought from IKEA, she was squatting down in front of the TV cupboard and choosing from a row of CD. Regina liked listening to music. She liked CD and visiting CD stores.
She couldn't find a CD to play that morning. "Maybe it's time to have a visit to the CD store."
The CD store is called Songs for You. Regina loved it. It gave her a feeling that those songs were really for her. She walked inside the shop. A song was being played. She found the song sounded familiar but she couldn't tell what that was.
I wanna be close to you
All I mean now is the dark, dancing shawdows move on to wide walls
I wanna be close to you
Here every eyes've been watching me
Leaving speed sin melodys
They make me get close to you
She stood there. Freeze. And then she figured it out. That was the song she listened to around 12 hours ago.
The nightclub.
"Hey Regina." That was David, the owner of this CD store. Regina guessed his age was not more than 30. They were friends but she never asked his age. It wasn't polite to ask, right?
Anyway, she found it great. Having your own shop, doing something you like as your living.
"Hey. What's the name of this song?" She pointed at the speakers on the ceiling.
"Close to you. You like it?" David asked as he walked towards Regina from the back of the store.
"I heard this before. Who's the singer?" "A band called Neon Trees. Are you come to buy some new CD? I've got theirs too. You want it?" Regina nodded, walking into the shop. She was looking at the rows of CD in different columns.
"So, Regina. We are friends, right?"
"Yes, we are but I don't have money to lean you."
"I'm not asking for money ... Sassy, huh?"
'I am, indeed. What do you want, friend?"
"I've got a question."
She raised a bow, interesting.
'It's a long story."
"I've plenty of time today."
'There is a girl who also comes here often. I still remember the first time she came in here."
"You remember it? Oh do you have a special hobbit or are you so unoccupied?"
"It's because she caught a thief for me."
"In a CD store? No offense, but what can be stolen here?"
He narrowed his eyes and pursed up his lips. "Not the CD. That was the wallet of a customer. And, this is not the point."
"Okay, please continue."
"She comes in twice a week." Regina nodded.
"For almost two months" She raised her bows.
"I am hoping to seek advice."
"From me? ..." This time she was the one who narrowed the eyes.
"Inappropriate? I am just thinking, well, you're a female too.'
"My advice is 'follow your heart, because it always knows'. Go for it, buddy."
"Well, okay." David put his hands on the table and started asking Regina question.
"I had told you mine. Exchange?"
"Blank as a paper" She sighed.
"I don't think there is nobody who is interested in you."
"Is this a compromise? Well, I was forced to go to the nightclub last night. And I met three guys."
"That sounds nice."
"Except they were Mr. Drunk and Mr. Lecher. And the last one was a good-looking guy with blue eyes. It sounds great, right? But he came and simply wanted to bring me to his bed. The end of the story." She looked down. Well yes, she felt bit sad.
"There will be someone. Someone just for you. Maybe he is coming to you."
"I know. I'm waiting." She looked at David and smiled.
Regina took the CD from David's hand and paid for it. Some customers were coming in. She walked out from Songs for Her.
Please leave a review so that I can make improvement! Thank you :)
