Story: We were meant to be

Disclaimer: I do not own anything so get out of my house *shoves court people through a window*

A/N: So this is a re-write of my old story! I originally wrote it when I was eleven…? (Though, BB's dialogue was appropriate still I think lmao) So yeah, it's in need of a huge makeover. I mean, look at my disclaimer for crying out loud.

A simple fling with a friend is always something doomed to end, but a forbidden love from the start, is one that none can ever forget.

There's a rusting, a quick movement of a camera before it screeches to life in static tones of grey before adapting to the color in its lense. A vibrant green hand comes off the lense and the concentration focuses on an olive skinned teenager. Literally. A green-skinned teenager with matching hair and a toothy fanged smile to go along with it. There's a nervous jitter to his stance as he rubs at his neck.

"So...this is like...diary entry 1...Cyborg gave me the thing to like get my thoughts out on my own so I don't say any stupid stuff? Anyways...guess I'll like introduce myself? My name is BeastBoy and I am a Teen Titan. Ya know, the superheroes? My teammates are my really close friends, ya know, Cyborg, Robin, and Starfire. Then there's this one that I'm...not sure I can call just a friend. Her name's Raven. She's like a dark goddess, dude. Tries to be brooding and stuff but like I can see the true beauty and stuff underneath, ya know? I know, I know, I sound corny but I can be serious when I want to be. I'm not just the laid-back guy who is always telling jokes. Truth be told, when it comes to girls, I would do just about anything, man. Just like imagine me," he slicks his hair back, brings his right hand in an "L" formation to cradle his chin as he did a duck face, "Moped, rose in my mouth, leather jacket on." He wiggles his eyebrows before mellowing down so his face resembles something more somber.

"There was this one girl…Terra. I thought it was love. Boy...was I wrong." He looks off to the side, not making contact with the camera.

"She betrayed me and the rest of the Titans, and fought alongside our mortal enemy Slade." His voice cracked on the last words and his eyes widened with the realization of it. He muttered the curses of puberty and cleared his throat before continuing.

"Anyways, Terra was a really good friend that would laugh at my jokes, eat a lot, cared about the environment, this that I do. I...we shared this cheesecake one time and...even after all that, she still hurt me. She hurt all the Titans."

He blinked violently, "I was so mad when I found out; I swear I wanted to kill her! I-" he quieted down his rising voice.

"Then she...did the unexpected and risked her life to kill Slade and save me and the rest of the Titans lives," he exaggerated with wild hand gestures, "I remember how heartbroken I was. Then Raven comforted me and told me we would find a cure one day. Raven is…Raven. Before Terra I had a really big crush on her. Then after Terra, like months after, I think I started to like her again.

Ever heard of opposites attract? I have and I think I'm like...living it or something. She's mysterious, I'm obvious, she smart I'm…not as bright as others, I'm funny, she's not! We have nothing in common and I feel like she's really the only one who really understands me!" The green boy got so excited he was pacing in front of the camera jubilantly before plopping back down on his computer chair in an exaggerated motion.

"And like, the other day, in the common room, I overheard the girls talking…Starfire was asking Raven her some poems and like...I can't remember exactly the poem in verbatim," he discreetly tried to throw away his word of the day calendar page into the trash, but he wasn't successful, "but, basically, about how like a fling with a friend is nothing more than that and is doomed and that real love was unexpected and...wonderful." He got all quiet again, a weird flush color of a darker green on his cheeks.

"When Starfire left, I swear I heard Raven whisper my name as she looked at her giant black book of poems. Like, what am I supposed to do with that, huh? What's it supposed to mean?

I was thinking about this for a while and I actually made a connection...well...KidFlash helped me make the connection...whatever….anyways basically it's like this, a simple fling with a friend, is doomed to the end is kinda like what happened between me and Terra. Then there's the unexpected love connection and well I've been thinking for a while now and I've come with two possible solutions," he started counting the solutions on his fingers, gesturing wildly at the camera, "1. Raven has been replaced by an evil clone and is trying to trick me or...2. Raven actually…" he gulped violently, "like me. I mean, I like her back, but I would never expect for her to feel the same way! What would I do? I asked the guys and they told me and I quote 'Tell her how you feel man'. So tonight, after I turn you off...I'm gonna knock on Raven's door and tell her my feelings. Right now it's…Oh my god! It's 10:03! I gotta go!"

There was a violent shuffle and the camera shut off.

After a while, it started back up with a brightly smiling green teenager on the other end.

"This has been...the best night...of my life!" He jumped back into his pile of clothes on the bed.

"She...she opened the door and of course I could only see a crack of her face, just her eye really and well...well of course she wanted to know why I was there and like I...dude, I froze. I couldn't. Nothing I could say was good enough so like I...I yanked her out and kissed her. She was shocked, like, all the lightbulbs in the hallway exploded for crying out loud. I thought it was a sign that I was wrong, God, I was mortified. But, she kissed me back."

His smile reached both ears, "She kissed me back."

He licked his lips a bit in what looked like remembrance.

"Guess Robin and Star have some competition now, since they're not the only couple in the tower anymore." Then the smugness was swept off, "Ahw man, that means Cy is the fifth wheel now, shoot he's going to-"
