"So you're saying that this," Dan says as he holds up a red gummy bear, "is better than the green ones."
Serena nods, biting her lip to hold back the giggles. "Red's a good color."
"But green is a cool color." He argues, picking up a green one. "See- its the same color as those green cashmere sweaters you like."
"So you eat sweaters now?" She asks, an oddly innocent tone in her voice.
"Ye-No! What does that have to do with anything?" He stares at her, eyebrow raised.
"Nothing, I'm just saying red gummy bears are better." She shrugs, sliding one delicately between her lips. "They taste good."
"So do green ones!" He protests, pushing one into her palm. "Try it."
"I already did. I had like five." She lies, setting it down next to the yellow one. She picks up a red one, pushing it through his lips. "See, those are better."
"You didn't have any green ones!" He says, quickly swallowing the red one. Shoving a green one into his mouth, he pulls her over, pressing his lips against hers.
Her arms snaked around his neck, pulling him against her. And in doing so, she inadvertently takes the evil green gummy bear from him. She giggles, pulling back. "Was this your plan?"
"I have no idea what you're talking about." He mutters innocently, popping another green gummy bear into his mouth.
"Come here, you." She says, rolling her eyes. She kisses him again and again, and she realizes that maybe, just maybe, green gummy bears weren't so bad.
