Disclaimer: Character name's aren't mentioned, but they don't belong to me anyways. They're property of Rumiko Takahashi.
Sympathy
This world is not her own, but it welcomes her.
She roams the land in the modern clothes of her time,
Making memories with a boy with golden eyes and silver hair.
She heals the sick and keeps them from death.
When she raises her bow, her eyes are filled with determination.
She points it at a demon who knows no other way to survive.
She sympathizes as she lets the arrow fly, but
She will never understand its suffering.
Her soul is incomplete, and it aches.
Empathy
This world used to be hers, but it rejects her.
She roams the land in the modest clothes of her time,
Trying to forget a boy with golden eyes and silver hair.
She heals the sick but keeps the dead from the afterlife.
When she raises her bow, her eyes are filled with sorrow.
She points it at the demon- she knows no other way to survive.
She empathizes as she lets the arrow fly, but
It will never understand her suffering.
Her soul is incomplete, and it aches.
Author's note: I've never really hated Kikyo- I feel kinda bad for her. This may or may not be because of Fragments of a Shattered Moon, which was one of the first stories i ever read (and am still reading, I love it), and I loved the way she was portrayed there. More than anything, I see Kikyo as a victim.
