Yagyuu comes downstairs the morning after Christmas to the wreckage of a party. Streamers seem as cheery as cobwebs and even the small fir tree in the corner feels cold and lifeless. At least, he thinks as he begins to gather up armfuls of discarded wrapping paper, they didn't leave and food out to the rats.
On his way to the kitchen, Yagyuu notices a sprig of green tacked above the door. He takes it down a little too viciously and refuses to think about why it'd been up there in the first place.
The mess isn't all that bad in the end, proof that Yukimura must have hung around for a while after Yagyuu had passed out from the spiked eggnog. The other regulars would never have cleaned up otherwise. Well, Sanada and Yanagi probably would have. He's also pretty sure any efforts they made would have been completely undone by Kirihara, Marui and Niou.
Niou. Yagyuu jerks the knot on the trash bag too hard and the cheap, thin plastic tears. Taking a deep breath, he's about to get a new one when the doorbell rings.
It's Niou. Before he can decide whether or not to let him in, the Trickster shoves his head in and glances at the space just above the door.
"You took it down." He makes a 'tsk' sound generally associated with old women and Sanada and produces a red baseball cap out of nowhere, jamming it on Yagyuu's head. Yagyuu wants to the cap off and shove Niou out in to the December cold, manners be damned, but he can't. Because Niou seems to be somehow attached to him. Lips to lips.
"W-what? N-N-Niou?" He stutters and reddens even though the Trickster's done nothing more than what he'd planned the whole previous evening to do. Niou smirks and flicks the green sprig Yagyuu suddenly realizes is attached to the peak of the cap.
"Mistletoe."
