Light eyes watched silently as the tall, dark haired boy flaunted around, walking through the halls as if he were someone of fame. Girls swooned as he strode confidently pass, giving his taunting smirk, knowing it made any girl go weak in the knees. He thrived in the attention from the female population and overly enjoyed the heated glares from their boyfriends, if the girl had one of course (which not many did due to their holding out for the one with midnight hair and equally dark eyes).

Since a young age, the Uchiha boy had always the 'I'm-better-than-thou' attitude that he plainly wore on his smug, irritating face. It didn't help that he was the cutest boy in their grade school years and then continuing to grow up into (what Neji heard more often than not) 'a sexy, hot stud with abs like steel.' Weren't those kids that were the 'cute ones' in elementary school suppose to grow up into pimple faced nerds spending most of their time shoved in their own lockers or strapped to the toilet or something? Well, the Uchiha lucked out.

He was what Neji liked to call, top of the food chain. No one looked down to him…he was the one looking at the rest below as they scrambled for his notice of them. And of course, Sasuke liked to play with his 'devoted followers.' Giving one girl a flower telling her she is beautiful and flashing another a flirtatious smile.

Uchiha Sasuke: an overly confident playboy and a narcissistic pain in the ass…

But, that was the exterior…the wall that he built around him. The other's who claimed they "whole-heartedly loved Sasuke" didn't see anything past that front view of the Uchiha. They didn't know the dark haired teen liked to cuddle with his dog everyday for at least ten minuets, or enjoyed watching princess movies with his nieces. They didn't understand the silent stares that seemed to be empty were actually filled with much hidden emotion that he strongly held back, or the soft touches that said everything that was unspoken. Those others didn't see anything but an outer shell named Uchiha Sauske.

Shifting his weight to lean against the wall, the Hyuuga locked eyes with the man of his present pondering. As the other walked past him, Neji broke the contact, dropping his gaze to the phone in his hand, as if to check the time.

Feeling the light touch he knew so well, Neji glanced down to see fingertips slightly brushing over the back of his hand that hung loosely by his side. A slight smile formed on the Hyuuga's lips at the quick and gentle touch given by the Uchiha. It was soft and tender… a touch speaking the unspoken words of "I love you."

Neji knew Sasuke as well as he knew himself…knew and understood every slight gesture and quick glance. Where others saw a sleek, mature man, he saw a playful twelve year old who liked to watch cartoons on Saturday mornings. Where his female classmates were attracted to the "cool act" that Sasuke played, he fell in love with the warm side that radiated in the comfort and vacancy of the other's room when they were together. Where the rest of the world saw the hard and cold exterior that made him more alluring, giving him the feel of being unattainable, he saw the vulnerable and weak side of the Uchiha that made him fall even more deeply in love with the boy because he knew he was very much attainable and human like everyone else.

With a small smile still adorning his lips, Neji walked into class. He knew that no matter what others said or thought, they would never see the true Sasuke that he did. He knew that no matter what the Uchiha did, at the end of the day Sasuke would always be his…crawling under white silk sheets, wrapping an arm around his waist and pulling him possessively close.

Uchiha Sasuke: an overly confident playboy and a narcissistic pain in the ass, who only ever unveiled his mask for one person…Hyuuga Neji…the love of his life.
