Michael spent his childhood having faith. Faith that he'd get his next meal, faith that the next foster parents were better then the last. Faith that someday Lincoln would come and save him from all of this. Faith was all he had.
In Fox River he tried to keep his faith. God works in mysteries ways-he reminded himself.
Then Seth happened, only to be followed by Bob, Tweener, Charles-countless others. Michael couldn't bring himself to pray during his time in Fox River. He was sure god couldn't see past those moldy walls.
After Fox River he had tried to confess, but it hadn't relieved the pain off his soul. In fact it only multiplied it. He didn't even have god's ear anymore.
Months after arriving in Panama Michael revisited the subject. God worked in mysteries ways. He went through recent events trying to see god's hand in all that had happened.
Vee was dead, LJ didn't want to be with them, his father was dead and-Sara-his Sara, was locked away.
He tried to see that he had saved his brother. That was his goal, and he achieved it. He saved his brother yet lost the woman he loved. Michael could only see a twisted game.
Years later when Michael held his son for the first time he understood. Bad thing were destined to happen, all you can do is make the best of it. And keep your faith for better times.
