They scream. All of them. Man, woman, kids… Whom he saved from robbery, beating, rape, murder… Once they see his face - they scream. Because they are more afraid of the monster who protected them than they were afraid of the attacker. Because attacker was a human… while he… is not.
And then… there's her. She didn't scream. She sighted. A relief. He tore apart two people who killed her mother and tried killing her… and her heartbeat went rhythmical the moment her assailants were dead. Panic and pain because of her mother's death - yes, but no fear of him. No screaming.
…
And now… She's in danger and this time it's because of him. Because of him not being able to stay away from her.
…
Train was passing with rising speed, hissing echoes reverberating in the tunnel. Strong air flow was trying to tear him away from the wall and through him into the wheels metal massacre. But he wouldn't let it happen. Because in front of him, pressed to the wall, protected by his strength, was her. So brave, so forceful… yet so fragile and small.
He breathed heavily thinking of his retreat. She wouldn't recognize him in the darkness but he didn't want to risk it. But more than that he didn't want to scare her… somehow he just knew that if she would be horrified looking at him… it would be logical… but it would hurt him too.
He stepped away and just the tiniest bit of a second before he turned to run away… came her voice:
- You are him.
She recognized him. She knew him. Both of HIM. And again… no screaming.
