It's another drabble and um... there's mild YukixMachi and Tohru's not even involved. My usual readers may not enjoy this one as much, but thanks to some prodding I'm going to post it. I've come to really enjoy YukixMachi recently to the point that I ship it. *hides* But I still don't ship it as hard as I ship YukixTohru and that's still my OTP. YukixMachi has just started making sense to me.

What if I suddenly disappeared? Would anyone notice? Would anyone realize I had been there to begin with? The thoughts were familiar to Yuki. They were things he'd used to ask himself every day. Things that he'd been convinced were true. Even now, he still wondered.
Yuki watched as the classroom slowly emptied of students and as they hurried to the door to go home or to club activities. From his desk, Yuki could hear the chatter among them as they talked with each other, laughed, and joked around. Would they notice? Would they care? He liked to think so. But did they actually need him here?
Mayu, assuming Yuki had a reason to still be there, said, "Just close the door after you, okay?" And then she left as well.
The only sound remaining was the insistent ticking of the clock, signalling the slow passing of time. Yuki laid his head on his desk, listening as even the hallway outside went silent. No one was there. Outside the window, he could hear people having a good time and something inside him felt heavy, knowing that he hadn't been invited.
If he was more outgoing, would that change anything? If he could relate better to others, would that help? What had he done to distance himself when he didn't want to be?
Minutes passed while Yuki thought and wondered.
You really thought that you could have friends, didn't you Yuki? You actually thought that you deserved friendship. It was a mistake, wasn't it? They'll never even remember you anymore, will they? They'll forget you're even there. Do you know why? Because it was a mistake. It was a mistake to be your friend.
Akito had said that long ago. Sometimes, it still felt true. Yuki closed his eyes, pondering that until the only thing he could hear were those same words repeating themselves over and over again. They'll forget you're even there. It was a mistake to be your friend.
"President?" A voice broke through his thoughts.
Yuki blinked, sitting up. "Oh, it's you, Machi," Yuki said, seeing her standing by his desk, looking a little nervous. "Did you need something? I'm a little surprised to see you here."
"The council sent me to get you. You didn't show up and they were worried."
For some reason, her last statement shocked him. "Th-they were worried?" Why? Why would they want to worry about me? "Oh! We have a meeting today, don't we?"
Machi nodded. "You didn't come, so I came to get you."
They'll forget you're even there.
Something felt lighter all of a sudden. "Thank you," Yuki said, standing up.
Machi looked confused. "F-for what?"
"You came all the way here to get me." Yuki gave her a small smile. "Thank you."
It's probably not that great since Machi is there, and I have so little experience with her. 6_6 I'd love to hear your opinions though, so please leave a review.
