They had moved there a year ago- and it had been odd and strange-but they were together- so it hadn't really mattered. They had loved their new house- it had been a definite change. Sansa and Margaery fit in well enough, gotten adjusted to the unique ways of Night Vale- they liked their neighbors well enough-the new way of doing things was fine- just fine. They had adjusted to the Faceless Old Woman Who Secretly Lived In Their Home- everything. Even the one pizza place- Big Rico's.
But it had all changed a few days ago, because of a Only In Night Vale type of accident happened- Sansa had started dying right in front of Margaery-and died in her arms. Blood- all over the walls- over Margaery- all over Sansa and the brand new kitchen they had managed to get from IKEA- and their new living room- the smell was stuck in Margaery's nose- it was behind her eyes every time she blinked- and she kept dreaming of it- no matter what, the house- not a home anymore- didn't feel clean enough- like she hadn't gotten all of the blood- but how could she bear to bring herself to get rid of what was left of Sansa? She had to call the Starks- they were- they were going to visit for Christmas. Margaery told them not to come down. The coffin containing what was left of Sansa from a freak accident would be flying back to Winterfell in a few hours. She couldn't stop crying- Robb's attempt at trying to tell her it wasn't her fault was drowned out by sobbing. It had been a mutual idea to move- if only Margaery had said no- if only- the if onlys and what ifs were killing her- and killing made her think of Sansa.
Margaery had never felt more cold or alone- despite the thermostat being almost at 100 degrees. She turned on the radio as she entered an even colder bed- everything- the fucking radio reduced her to tears, everything reminded her of Sansa Stark. Her dead wife. So young- not even twenty yet- she had been planning a surprise birthday party for her- Sansa had heard how big the radio station was in Night Vale and convinced her to buy it- and as Margaery tried to sleep- she tuned most of it out- until she heard, "I hope all of you out there have someone to sleep through it with, or-at least-good memories of when you did. Good night, listeners. Good night." Margaery fell asleep- dreaming of a What Could Have Been Christmas- and woke up too early. She got dressed, and walked outside in the dark light of morning- and saw Vincent LaFarge heading towards her. She didn't run- or bother screaming- it didn't matter anymore. She hoped that she would be with Sansa soon.
