Criminal Minds.
I own nothing but my computer.
I make no money from this.
I look through the glass of the door then take a big breath before I open it My uniform has fresh blood spots spattered across the sleeve and top. I can't help it this is the part of the job that I hate. That all of us hate, anyone with a badge that is.
I was told downstairs who I should see, scanning the area I see lots of men and a few women hard at work doing what they do best getting the worst of the worst off of our streets. I see the name of Aaron Hotchner on an office door that is where I go.
I knock twice then wait. I am soon admitted. With out fanfare I tell him the reason why I am here. I give him my report and he listens without interrupting. His face void of emotion the whole time.
I was behind her at the red light. When light changed she looked both ways then proceeded. The car came out of no where it slammed right into her spun her around twice. She hit a light pole head on.
I radioed for backup. The other driver was drunk he stumbled out of his car and started to walk to her. I cuffed him and put him on the ground.
I then went to her. I had to close my eyes and swallow when I saw her. Her face all cut, she was bleeding out of her mouth.
She whispered. Derek, I'm sorry I never told you. I love you. She closed her eyes and died with a smile on her lips.
I handed him the FBI credentials.
I'm sorry for your loss Agent Hotchner.
He nods his dismissal and as I am opening the door I see a man put his fist through the glass door that I opened just minutes ago. Then collapse and cry inconsolable calling for her over and over.
I leave as quickly as a can with one thought on my mind, this girl that I never told that I love, I hope I'm not to late.
