mistletoe memories, a holiday drabble
one.
Hermione cringed. "Get away from me!" She cried out as the blonde leaned towards her.
Looking scandalized, Draco leaned away and folded his arms. "Don't looked so pressed," he frowned, "it's mistletoe. I'm not voluntarily kissing you. It's charmed."
She made a move to step from underneath it and found that she couldn't. An efficient scowl crossed her features and he smirked at her righteously, leaning in slowly. She rolled her eyes and opened her mouth to yell at him, but his lips found hers first. It was the first time Draco Malfoy had ever surprised her; who'd have known that it would have been over how soft his lips were.
two.
Hermione suspected that he planned it. She stood under the mistletoe with a frown, more content to let the winter snow whip her in the face than have to kiss the Slytherin for a second time. At least if she had to kiss him, she deserved the right to punch him in the face. There was no way in hell that she would allow her personal history to state that she had punched Malfoy once, but kissed him twice. And yet there he was, positioning himself like a coiled rattlesnake, ready to strike. Suddenly it was warm and the snow was irrelevant, his body was trapping her against the wall under the mistletoe, and she had no choice but to let him kiss her. She did have a choice in whether she liked it (and boy, did she like it!)
three.
She didn't remember why she even agreed to go to the stupid Christmas party. Daphne Greengrass was a colleague and Hermione has seen Malfoy gallivanting around London often enough to know he is engaged to her younger sister. The world still deems it necessary to stick them under a mistletoe and Malfoy has the gall to look pleased despite the angry look on his blonde girlfriend's face. He pulled Hermione close, swept his foot against her ankles, and held her practically parallel to the ground as he planted a kiss on her lips (and was that his tongue? it was his tongue for Merlin's sake) that left her wobbly and breathless by the time he let go.
She actually laughed when she overheard Astoria call their kiss 'jaw-dropping and passionately done' even though she knows it's not funny.
four.
It's her flat and it's just the two of them. When he stepped under the mistletoe, she moved to him, and this time, she captured him in a kiss. She felt his tongue brushing her lips and it is something she has become an expert at knowing, but she still pulled away and grinned up at him. "It's almost New Year's and this is the first time I've caught you under here."
Draco grinned and kissed her chastely. "You clearly need more mistletoe."
five.
Hermione isn't even sure if it's mistletoe she's standing under. It looks like an ordinary floral decoration but Draco still pushed her against the wall and kissed her ravishingly, his lips firm and insistent. Even though they're in public, Hermione held his face still and allowed him to explore her mouth thoroughly until he moved away, satisfied. He wrapped his arm around her waist and led her out of the building with a smirk. "You know," he said with a nudge, "I really am starting to appreciate the holidays."
"No," she said as she kissed his cheek, "just the mistletoe."
