An Ode To The Cannibal
--
My Last Words
--
It seems the day has just begun,
When suddenly it comes to an end,
And the curtains that I've just opened,
Come to a close again.
--
I blink my eyes and shake my head,
Try to find a reason why,
This had to happen all so soon,
What loose ends did I not get to tie?
--
My lips fall closed, no sign of life,
No breath, no pulse, no heat,
No sign of hope in this empty vessel,
But above me angels sing... ready for us to finally meet.
--
This world that I am leaving won't forget me yet,
And they all need to know I'm up above,
They need to know I'm just fine.
And all I can feel now is love.
--
I'm not the only one to pass over,
And it's not like the rest of the world will stay,
We all pass on to the next life,
We all feel the close of the day.
--
My life has not been wasted,
For I've only moved on to a new one,
There's no need to cry for me,
Because I truly saw the setting sun.
--
But as the sun set for me,
The Twilight of my days,
I saw the stars above me dance,
Shooting, twinkling, soaring in a bright beautiful haze.
--
And then the warmth surrounded me,
It wrapped me up nice and tight,
It carried me up into heaven,
And up into the gorgeous night.

My last writing on fanfiction is this poem dedicated to the ever wonderful Stephanie, Daddy's Little Cannibal. She's partying with Jesus now way above our heads, and if they have Internet in Heaven, I hope she reads this, and tells my grandma I said hi.
I don't know about you, but I think of life as a video game. She simply got to the next level before the rest of us. I hope her family can make it through this tough time easily. Stephanie was a great writer, and super sweet. I bet she would have written a million books and had a million movies made of her books, and I would have bought and laminated them all. It's a tragedy that she died so soon into her life, and I pray that she went without any pain.
So this one was for you, Cannibal. I'll see you in a couple decades.
xStevie
