Never Gone
In the surreal expanses of the Red Realm,
We sit together, you and me, as we always have.
In the years that have passed, nothing has changed.
You lean forward, just as you always do.
Offering the wine of life.
The drops that spill onto my tongue are sweet,
as they continue to fall I pull you closer to me.
A black cloak covers the both of us, shrouding crimson in darkness.
With every breath, I can hear your heart.
Your blood that flows through your veins,
flows through mine as well.
Tell me, how many years do we have left to go?
Whisper it to my ears, even if I can't hear the truth.
I am wary of this world, more than I've ever been.
I've been sickened by experience, dulled by pain.
Time can fly, but it is a bird that is merciless and cruel.
The shinma seem to never decrease,
a new one always at hand to replace the old.
I want to feel for once, what it is to be human.
I want the emotions, the feelings of mortality.
Isn't it ironic? Everyone else wants to live forever.
The wise are always at war with the fools.
When I finally journey to a new time,
I want you to be with me. We'll sit together,
sipping the real wines of France.
It will taste true and pure, not this bitter sweetness.
Come, raise your cup;
And let us drink together.
