A/N: This is the first Community fic I've written and it's also the first fic I've uploaded to fanfiction. Enjoy!

She liked waking up before the sun rose. It made her feel punctual and more grown up in a strange way. She'd get out of bed, make breakfast for the guys, and occasionally if the mood struck, she'd sit on the fire escape just to watch the sunrise. It was calm and peaceful.

He liked to be awake early too, but for an entirely different reason. Some of the best reruns of old nineties sitcoms tend to run early in the morning, so he'd lazily roll out of his bunk bed and make his way to his chair in the living room, rubbing the last bit of sleep out of his eyes as he shuffled his feet along the hardwood floor.

Usually, a small murmur of good morning would be exchanged between the two and she'd hand him a plate of food and his favorite "special drink". Sometimes she'd sit next to him and watch whatever program he was enjoying, other times, she'd just do the crossword in the morning newspaper, but today was different.

She sat on the fire escape, shivering slightly as the morning chill met her. She was so mesmerized from the sight of the sun slowly waking up the residents of Colorado that at first she didn't notice the presence of the young man next to her. Her look of awe was met with an awkward half-smile as he offered her the steaming mug. A small smile tugged at her lips, but she declined his offer with a small shake of the head. Instead, she leaned against him, absorbing the small amount of warmth his body gave off.

They sat still in silence for what seemed like hours, the peace only broken with the sound of their third roommate waking up, causing time to speed up again and things to return to normal. Climbing back into the apartment, they exchanged shy smiles and resumed their normal routines, silently vowing that that particular sunrise would be their little secret.
