A/n: This is my first Kelsi/Chad. I've recently found myself fascinated with these two and am toying with the idea of them as a couple. I hope you like it, although it is slightly out of character. I already have a sequel in mind so let me know what you think

Slightly

His mop of locks bounced her way and Kelsi inwardly groaned.

"Hey small person"

She bit her lip hard before lifting her head up and daringly staring into his eyes.

"Kelsi" she corrected

Chad Danforth nodded "Right" he grinned sheepishly

He bounced the ball he had held in his two hands.

"No bouncing in the halls Danforth," instructed Mrs. Darbus as she walked brusquely past.

Chad rolled his eyes and stuck out his tongue at her retreating form and cheekily began to bounce the ball before turning his attention back to the incredibly short girl in front of him.

"Have you seen Troy?" he asked

Kelsi refrained from slamming her locker. "No" she answered quickly starting to walk, she was in a hurry, in a hurry to get away from tallboy. She smiled to herself, feeling slightly satisfied. Much to her charging he walked along with her. His bag hanging lazily over his shoulder.

"So what's up"?

"Ceiling" she answered sarcastically, normally she was nice, but tallboy rubbed her the wrong way.

Chad laughed and gave a low whistle, aggravating her even more.

"Are you sure your not Sharpay in disguise" he asked, wriggling his eyebrows.

Before she could retort, her loose lace got caught with her other shoe and she was lunged forward, flat on her face. Her face turned beet red, even though she was in an empty hallway, she still had Chad Danforth to laugh at her.

She pulled herself up onto her knees to gather her disheveled music and school papers. To her utmost surprise, He knelt down with her. To see Tallboy kneeling on his knees just looked funny. She let a giggle escape and Chad grinned handing her her papers and then offering his hand to help her up.

She waved it off and pulled herself up.

"Independence" he bowed "Very respectful"

She rolled her eyes

"We are both late for class"

He looked at his watch "Or maybe just incredibly early for our next."

"Maybe we should just give ourselves a free period, it's Darbus class, we already know a tardy is always rewarded with work behind the stage, I'd rather just turn up for detention" he added.

Kelsi sighed, She never had had a detention before, but anything was better then being sent to sew costumes, or paint props.

"Fine"

Chad grinned again, and this time Kelsi found it contagious.

"Welcome to my world" He offered her his arm.

She cocked her head "Come on, I'm not that bad" he responded somewhat seriously.

She shyly locked her arm in his.

He annoyed her, aggravated her and made her late for class, yet today was somewhat different than yesterday. She had discovered he wasn't quite as bad as she had imagined.

And she found herself taking a liking to him, a liking ever so slightly.
