It had started.

The baboon touched the cubs' foreheads with the liquid he had gotten out of the gourd. He stared at the cubs with his bright blue eyes and smiled the best he could.

He had done this many times before, but still, it was nerve wrecking.

'One day, you will be the King and Queen.' He whispered to them softly. His voice echoed slightly through out his little room.

He turned quietly and spotted the current Queen and King sitting in the corner. He nodded at them quickly and started walking out onto Priderock with the cubs in hands. He held the cubs as if they were his own children, carefully, but tight enough that they won't fall and get hurt. They squirmed around a little, but compared to the previous Queen they barely moved.

The King looked over at the Queen and nodded. She responded quickly by nodding back and getting up. Her eyes were wide; anyone in their right mind could tell that she was nervous. The King as well, had wide eyes, arguably wider then the hers. But they both took a deep breath in and followed gracefully behind the baboon, with huge toothy grins.

Within seconds, they were all standing on the tip of the rock, and they could all see the beautiful view ahead of them. For miles and miles, there were thousands of animals all standing in rows, all ready to catch a glimpse of the future King and Queen.

When the baboon held the first cub up in his left hand, the animals went crazy. Roars, cries and shrieks echoed through the Pridelands. And when he held the second cub in his right hand, the crowd became even louder.

'You see that? This will be your land one day, young ones.' The dark lion whispered to the little cubs. The Queen smiled and rested her head on the King.

'One day.' She agreed.

The cubs were swingling wildly in the air, trying their best to get the baboon to let them go and they swung their hands in the air playfully. They were both completely oblivious to the fact that they will rule the land.

Kovu, Kiara and Rafiki smiled and watched as the two cubs stared out over the horizon.
