Hello, people. ^^ I bring you an AC fanfiction. And before you ask, this is not a self-insert! Suzume is a character that I made up for the purposes of playing the game.

Yin: You said the next story would be fluff!

Yan: Oh, boo-hoo. Omote told a nasty lie.

Yin: Grrr...

Does this count as a parody...? I don't know.

''Hey, missy! Mind if I come in?''

Suzume sighed inwardly as Limberg barged into her house yet again. What did a girl have to do to get some peace around here?

''Something up?'' asked the cranky villager.

''...I'm thinking of leaving Kyo Town,'' replied the mayor.

''What!?''

''Not forever! Just... I want to find Clay.'' Limberg looked blank. ''Who?''

''Clay! Our neighbour! He moved out last week, remember?'' Deep down, she knew that he didn't remember. Nobody did. Not even Prince, his fellow Lazy-type. Why had all of their memories disappeared?

''Forget it, I'm going.''

''Missy!'' he looked appalled. ''You can't go out on your own! What if you get lost? I'll come with you, squinky!''

Suzume groaned.

A few minutes later, they were standing at the train stop. They waited for until a train came. Quickly boarding it, they took a seat.

''I wonder if we'll find another town,'' the girl said quietly.

''We've got to.''

After several minutes of silence, Limberg began to yawn. At this hour, he would usually be asleep. Suzume did the same.

''Maybe we should sleep for a little while? We don't want to be falling asleep once we arrive.''

''Just for a few minutes, then.''

When she came to, they were at another town.

''Oh! Let's go!'' she yelled excitedly, dragging her companion off the bus. As soon as she set foot on the ground, she realised they had made a mistake.

''But missy, this is...''

There was no doubt about it. It was Kyo Town.

As if to confirm this, Annalise walked up and asked where they'd been.

''We must have slept longer than I thought, and the train went back here. Let's try again?''

''You know I'll back you up, squinky. Let's do it.''

After a few minutes, the train arrived again.

''That's weird,'' Suzume frowned. ''It hasn't even been half an hour and the train's already back.''

Shrugging off the thought, they boarded the train again.

''Let's not fall asleep this time.''

''Agreed.''

And fall asleep they did not. It was dark for the journey, pitch black. Suzume assumed that they must be in some kind of tunnel. More time passed.

And there was Kyo Town, again.

''What the heck?! Isn't there any other stops?!'' Limberg cried.

''Something is terribly wrong here...'' the mayor said quietly, dread settling in the pit of her stomach.

The train started moving again. The scenery faded to darkness, and the town was no longer in sight.

''WAIT! STOP THE TRAIN!'' she was afraid that the driver wouldn't hear, or would refuse, but he did indeed stop the train and open the doors.

It was still pitch black on all sides. Cautiously feeling for some ground to put her foot on, Suzume slipped. Acting purely on instinct, she scrambled backwards, because she had the awful feeling that there was no ground, or indeed anything, outside of Kyo Town, and she wasn't sure why.

''Missy! Are you okay?!''

''There's nothing there...''

''Hey! What's going on?!'' they demanded of the driver. ''Why aren't you responding?!''

''Because he's not supposed to answer that question.''

They turned around to see who had spoken.

It was Rover.

''The driver is merely a puppet. In fact, everyone is. I can erase their memories at will.''

''Why would you do that?''

''You're not allowed to leave the village.'' Rover threatened. ''If the villagers break the rule, I'll erase them from existence.''

Suddenly, they were back at Kyo Town.

''I do believe this is your stop. Am I right?''
