Soul Carrier
My all seeing eye watches the world around me
I am ignored and forgotten by all as they do as they please
My black feathers and beak just trigger a slight annoyance
My caws taken upon ears who wish to forget my existence at all
Our well-known and distinctive completely black body along with our unique caw
Black bird, raven, pest, a murder for our flock
My kind and I have been known by many names across your countries and cultures
I am the crow and can be the symbol of your doom
Our creator has graced certain few of my kind with a responsibility
My duty of escorting souls to the next world is one that I honor
We blend in with our unburdened kin while the responsible deliver you to eternal rest
We are anywhere and everywhere, in the fields, in the cities and the graveyards and see all
In my long life I have carried and heard the many souls that I have escorted
Many tales have fall upon my ears and visions filled my mind's eye
Death of natural cause, of wrong-place-wrong-time, accidents, violence and murder
I have heard all of their tales and become burdened by them
It is a travesty for those who are killed in acts of senseless murder
Most find peace once the death blow is delivered
But sometimes, something so bad happens that it carries along with them
And I feel their pain, anger and sadness instead of the relief like most others
We are each given a onetime power to bestow upon on our choice
For the select few who were wronged and are ripped from love
The ones who carry with them such a sadness and injustice
We give them the chance to return with us to the living to set the wrong things right
Just remember for the time that you are to take a life and think I have no purpose
You will be sending these tortured souls into my claws to the world of my domain
Where I am the all-powerful and grant them their wish
And you will be weak and insignificant and shall fall before my power and you
