It was another long day. Another long day with a crazy pounding headache that seemed to come out of nowhere complete with another handful of Advil to go along with it. Looking into the empty bottle, he sighed; strike that, another trip to the pharmacy for another bottle.

He heads home and there she is, asleep. Being kind, sweet even with the promise of sex and eggs (in that order) to make him feel better. But he just shrugs her off, feeling more than rejected over his latest failure.

And then she's there, right in front of him. Saying that it really is over between her and Tom. She says that she's sorry and asks him if they are over. But he doesn't know.

He does know that he needs her. He knows that their love should have lasted for years. But even when the pictures that she had been looking at earlier were taken things were going wrong. They always joked that those were the pictures of couples from the commercials that they should be on one.

Now she's got a bag on the table, unpacked, but ready. Her eyes don't say anything. She says that it's all her fault, corrects herself that maybe it's mostly her fault. He decides to tell her, certain that this will make her stay.

Because if anything else, he needs her.
