"Yakusoku"
"Haahh~" Mao sighed as he cuddled closer in Dai-chan's embrace.
"Feeling better?" Dai-chan asked as he hugged him making the coldness of the night which makes Mao shiver go away.
"Hai! Arigatou buchou!" the younger looked up, smiling adorably.
They are currently on Dai-chan's backyard, watching the stars in the dark, velvet sky while sitting on a picnic blanket.
Earlier that day, the older of the two texted his kouhai, asking him to come over for a picnic as their celebration for their new projects. With nothing to do at home, Mao quickly and cheerfully agreed. They spend the afternoon buying and cooking some recipes while filling the kitchen with their wonderful laughter. After that, they spread a blue, checkered blanket at Dai-chan's greeny backyard and eat up the different food they've prepared while exchanging stories.
The cold night has fallen on them but feeling lazy, they decided to stay for some more time, watching the city sparkle below them like the stars above.
A comfortable silence settled between the two. Each of them contented to watch whatever there is to see while cuddling. Mao, getting sleepy as the time flies, was about to droop when he heard his senpai whisper something in his ears.
"Aishiteru yo"
"…ehh~? What is it Dai-chan?" Mao asked, struggling to wake up from his light sleep.
"Ah! Betsuni! Nothing at all." Daisuke hastily denied, his face turning red. He didn't mean to say it aloud! He's been keeping his feelings for his kouhai for a long time. Liked him ever since he first met the young boy at Tenimyu and already decided to just keep it to himself not wanting to lose Mao's trust and friendship.
Silence fall between the two of them. Hiding his shy smile as he feels as if butterflies are fluttering inside his stomach, Mao answered him back…
"I love you too Dai-chan." Then he reached up and kissed his senpai on the cheeks.
At that moment Dai-chan loss all the words, then his face started to light up with a breathtaking smile.
Hearing those words- the words that he is longing to hear from the person whom he treasured so much for so long, his eyes started to water. Wrapping his arms carefully, he hugged the boy tightly to his chest as if he have no plans to let go of him again, making the younger chuckle lightly before returning it.
"I love you more Mao, ever since the time when we're still at Tenimyu. It will never fade away… My heart will always belong to you and it'll never be complete without you in it."
"Dai-chan..." Blushing a cute shade of pink, Mao moved away and take Dai-chan's face in his hands, peeking at the eyes, "Yakusoku?"
"Yes. I promise." Dai-chan said smiling then he looked deeply into Mao's eyes.
Dai-chan reached out Mao's face, stroking it tenderly, his eyes showing the all the love that he's feeling. Then slowly, he scooped down, placing his lips tenderly on Mao's. As they shared a slow, sweet first kiss, a meteor shower started, lighting and filling the dark sky above them with tens and hundreds of strikingly beautiful lights.
"I'll never forget this day." Mao said as he look up when they've parted, the smile in his glowing face reflecting the happiness and love that he's feeling inside for the person next to him.
"Neither do I, love. Neither do I. Aishiteru yo. I'll always will." And so Dai-chan enveloped him again in a warm, loving hug as they continue to watch the beautiful sky with their new found love.
